My self-summary
I'm following a winding path, and New Orleans is where I am now.

I want something true. Something longer than a week. This city is seductive, but I want more than a flash in the pan.

The concept of play is important to me... wordplay, gameplay, or just play... The stories we create and make real are amazing things that live outside us and can serve to inspire.

Cafes, karaoke, and bookstores are my natural habitat.
What I’m doing with my life
I am learning, I am growing always, and if it isn't exhausting me than I am not doing it right. That being said, I have a very relaxed approach to life, hoping to wander into inspiration rather than throttle it out of the world around me.

A summary of a few things I've done on the weekends and evenings; Strolls around San Jose taking in the night life, such as it is, wandering the rest of the bay area, sampling chai, beer, coffee, playing a role playing game (I know some amazing tale tellers and word weavers), playing Rock Band in clever and stylish company, a glamorous 1940s Club party(complete with a fabulous hostess), visiting Dickens Faire, dancing and drumming under moonlight on a friend's wedding night in the woods, dancing at a goth club.

When I have down time, I'm reading graphic novels, historical fiction, fantasy, or nonfiction. I also listen to music as I write, dancing in my living room, think about new cd mixes to make, and play casual flash games on my pc.
I’m really good at
Loving stories for everything they are, shaking my tailfeathers with sincerity (skill optional), and coaxing hermits into karaoke outings (I will cash in up to two years worth of brownie points to do so!)
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books) The Rum Diary, A Wizard of Earthsea (both H Thompson and Ursula K Le Guinn are two of my favorite writers, and I will eventually read everything they have written!) Red Dwarf/Better Than Life, The Chronicles of Amber, and what I've read of Christopher Moore (especially Fool, Biff, and The Stupidest Angel).

Music) I am very fond of waltzes, in many forms. I love songs that sound very cheery, but have odd or dark lyrics if you stop to listen.
many more than this list: movie and game soundtracks, Bowie, Kate Bush, Tool, Ladytron, Radiohead, the Smiths, Gorillaz, Happy Rhodes, Garbage, RJD2, Siouxsie, The Clash, Death Cab for Cutie, Gogol Bordello, Imogen Heap, PJ Harvey, Velvet Underground, Steeleye Span, Oingo Boingo, Muse, R.E.M., Alphaville, Wyclef Jean, Regina Spektor, Röyksopp, Apoptygma Berzerk

Winter 2014:
White Winter Hymnal by Fleet Foxes, and everything on my Pandora station "Rock isn't dead" (mostly Mother Mother, Arctic Monkeys, The Shins, Metric, The Decembrists, and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs)

Snacktime) Dark chocolate. Coffee. I am a vegetarian who loves spicy food and a wide and exotic range of cuisine. Favorite dinners often include Avacado maki(or my custom avacado-cream cheese-jalapeno roll!), savory crepes, Chili Rellenos, Drunken noodles, hot hot curries, and even my own stir fry (if I feel brave).
Six things I could never do without
hypnotic or inspiring new music, a good cafe to read or write at, quiet moments while traveling, singing with friends (I didn't say how well, mind you), gaming with my friends, the occasional trip to dance
I spend a lot of time thinking about
hypothetical imaginary conversations, past and present, songs, just what makes people and cultures tick, etymology, mythologies

Why is the auto-correct on my newer phone somehow worse than my last one?
On a typical Friday night I am
Watching a show, reading a book, out entertaining or being entertained, usually unaware it is Friday night.
