I am not a simple human being, but I live a fairly simple life. I am smart, dryly funny and a bit of an unapologetic workaholic, but the time I break away is very important to me and I genuinely try to make the most of it. I’m also fit and youthful - I have too much left to do in life to be otherwise! I have 2 twenty something daughters who actually like and are delighted to spend time with me (recently, this meant the 3 of us lying on the floor of the Mojave at 4 a.m. captivated by a meteor shower and a sky of stars the likes of which I've never seen before).
There is little that bores me, but every once in a while there is something that fascinates me. I can have fun on a quiet or raucous evening with friends; with an intellectually stimulating conversation or a sophomoric movie; or a sophomoric conversation and a thought provoking movie. I enjoy a list of outdoor activities that is endless.
Mostly, I aspire to be a basic fun-loving adult in the limited play time that’s available. I am blessed to have great, longstanding friends and I take full advantage of my urban neighborhood - BYO's, local rep theater, indie movie houses, summer concerts in Millennium Park, anything on or in the water, margaritas on the back deck. And anytime I can, I get away to what is both my “shrink’s office” and my “branch office,” otherwise known as my second home in the Indiana Dunes.
I would like to have a well-rounded grownup relationship with someone who is smart and funny and who thinks I’m smart and funny. Looking for a woman who is strong and independent does not mean that I am not caring, attentive and supportive. Beyond that, I have no real preconceived notions about what a partner or companion MUST be like.
Working on it - my interests and my potential.
Beyond that, lots of nonfiction that helps me understand this crazy world better. Fish or Steak, cooked on the deck as long as it's at least 33 degrees. Any music Pandora throws at me; ranges from old/"my" music: Dylan, Petty, Clapton, Etheridge, Raitt (she was great at Ravinia in 9/16! to more modern rock: Bleachers, Imelda May, Elle King).
