Overall, my life is pretty stable. I have been in the same Seattle house for over 25 years, and have a strong and supportive network of family and friends. I have made some mistakes, had some hard knocks, and learned some important lessons. I think I am figuring out what counts...how to relax and enjoy. I'd like to find the right person for the last permanent relationship.
You? Happy, positive, grounded, smart and easy-going. I would like to find someone to share the rest of my life with, but I don't think that's easy to do and am prepared to take my time. I enjoy meeting people, and love to make new friends. We all know that relationships take work, and both parties need to be prepared to compromise, change and respect each other. I am laying out where I am now, and my current activities, but I am open to changing course to share in the interests and life style of a partner.

My mother and I have a great little cottage on the water near Greenbank, with a stunning western view where we can listen to the waves. It is really a pleasure just to look out the window and see the ever changing panorama...and the sunsets are knock-outs. I love going for walks and even just driving around...the scenery is so lovely. I hope I can find a guy that could enjoy both Seattle and Whidbey with me.
I have one son, who just graduated from college! Naturally I adore him, but we are not exactly hanging together at this stage of our lives! I only get infrequent sightings. I have two wire fox terriers and too many cats...I hope I can find an animal lover. My two terriers are my constant companion.
Chemistry is mysterious but critical, so I hope to meet with potential matches early on.
And one last thing...it IS really important to me to do something for others. I do a lot of pro bono work, but I aim to act positively on a personal level too. Aim for everyday kindness. I hope I can find a kindred soul.
I am also helping out my 88 yr old mother. I built a separate apartment for her on the lower level of my Seattle house. Up until now she has been able to take care of herself, but she did have a stroke a couple of years ago, and although she has recovered very well she had some set backs. Actually, we are really fortunate that she is ambulatory, competent and fully enjoying life. We have a caregiver come in a few hours a day to give her a hand.
I really enjoy travel and my habit was to get away at least a couple of times per year. I have had the good fortune to see a lot of the world and I hope to see much more.
I like to get away to a warm place in the winter or early spring. Hawaii, Mexico and Argentina are all favorites.
I love film and enjoy dance, opera, theater, symphony. Have pretty far ranging taste in music. I also like to get plenty of exercise and do outdoor things. For over ten years I biked to work, and then spent another 6 years walking over 6 miles per day. I think incorporating regular exercise into your life makes it easy to get, and that is key to looking and feeling good and staying young. All you need to add is vegetables! (kidding, sort of....) I love to hike, sno shoe and cross country ski...absolutely nuts about snorkeling!
I love movies. At one point I saw at least one new release a week! I have fallen way behind, but I am sure I could get right back into it again under the right circumstances. My favorite movie is "Talk to Her".
I love all kinds of food...and prefer it HOT AND SPICY. (well, I am Mexican, after all). I admit that I couldn't make it thru a meal without red pepper flakes. t do eat healthy...very little meat and lots of vegetables and fruit. I don't always eat as many different fruits and veggies as they recommend, but I do try.
my loved ones
lots of walks
trips to warmer climates in the winter
Well...I am tired of being single. Aren't you? But I don't think either of us are ready to compromise!!!
