My self-summary
I love playing golf and all aspects of my life...I am happy with what and whom I have become. I see the brighter side of most situations....negativity is not in my vocabulary. My listening pleasure comes from NPR and beautiful music... opera pulls at my heart strings along with the songs of the morning birds. The ocean and meditation are my places of refuge. Laughter is extremely important as are my family and friends.
What I’m doing with my life
Teaching has been a part of my life for 43 years, I now teach yoga and meditation at a large yoga studio. Painting in acrylics and watercolors challenges my ability to truly see. My weekly golf game with two of my brothers pushes me to want to take up another sport :):):), gosh I wish I played better. Exercising, eating well, practicing yoga, meditating, being truthful and laughing are all ingrained in my being.
I’m really good at
Many say I am an excellent listener and I so enjoy getting into conversations that have meaning, substance ...politics is a favorite along with the arts and what is going on in the world. I am extremely intuitive and have a second sense when people are not being honest. Plants seems to like me and grow quite well under my green thumb. Most of the time I am quite organized and very neat. I have no difficulty taking it easy and enjoying the down times in my life.
The first things people usually notice about me
My hazel/green eyes, my smile, red hair, physical shape and the way I dress. I often hear that I generate positive energy and that people like being around me.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
All of Mary Oliver's poem's and writing's especially "The Journey". The Bhagavad Gita, "The Forever War" by Dexter Filkins,"A Mercy" by Toni Morrison, All the Harry Potter books. The only movies I am not fond of are those that are all about slicing and dicing... like The Saw. The Eagles, Linda Ronstadt, The Beatles, Peter Paul and Mary, all the rock musicians of the 60' The Wall and anything by Pink Floyd....all Opera. Indian and Asian food seem to nurture my digestion the long as there is no meat.
Six things I could never do without
Laughter, art, music, good healthy food, exercise/ yoga/meditation.... and of course love. And I must not forget the theatre and dance concerts....I cannot go without being a part of the theatre here in the Washington area, it is so fertile.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
The purpose of my life, why am I here, how to help all those who come to my yoga classes....ways to be a better teacher. How can I make my art reflect what is true within me....
What is really going on with our political leaders....perhaps we need to start over!
On a typical Friday night I am
Since I teach on Saturday mornings I usually stay home on Friday being quiet and getting to bed early.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
My age.....:):):)
I miss my father who died two years ago...I miss his kind, gentle manner and his funky jokes.
You should message me if
You are spontaneous, enjoy life, are grounded and happy....and are a good listener.
