My self-summary
When I'm on my porch with my ukulele in my hands, life feels pretty great. Music is my favorite way to relax and energize myself. I can't imagine life without lots of music in it.

Late Bloomer is how I could describe myself. It seems like it takes me a while to give myself permission to do the things that I like. I'm ok with that. Now I can go out and play music on the street in the Old Market, write songs, discover venues and musicians that inspire me. It's exciting to imagine all the possibilities that life has to offer. Sometimes its scary too, but I'm finding more and more that I'm very capable handling that stuff as well. I've been working hard to take care of myself physically and financially. Being a good dad is also a top priority and my two sons are pretty cool guys to be around.
What I’m doing with my life
I work for a good company doing a job that I'm proud to do. I have two really great sons. They're so much fun to be around - I think the world of them am often incredulous that I get to show them how to get along in the world.

One of my favorite activities is riding my bicycle. The times I feel most alive and connected with the world are when I'm on my bike. There's something about not having anything between me and nature that gets at my very core. It feels really primal sometimes.

I like to push myself physically. I try to get to the gym every day for some type of workout. I especially like taking group classes like cross training or cycling.

I can be really quiet. I can be really goofy. I love laughing and making other people laugh. I have a pretty dry sense of humor and find that just about everything is at least a little bit comical.

I recently starting going back to church. I'm Catholic. I'm Buddhist. Mostly I'm just trying to find out what it really means to be walking around in this lifetime. I want to see the world as it really is.
I’m really good at
I like playing music and I like to think I'm pretty good at it.

I like being a dad and I work really hard at making sure I provide my sons with the best environment and tools for living that I can.

I like to cook and will try just about anything in the kitchen.
The first things people usually notice about me
I'm pretty laid back and I like knowing other people are at ease. I have a dry sense of humor and can hold up my end of the banter pretty well.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I've been reading a bunch of young adult novels - my youngest son is a voracious reader with excellent taste, so I get many recommendations from him. I also really like reading pulp crime novels, especially anything from the Hard Case publishing series.

Music is the most important art form to me - I like things with originality & heart. Jolie Holland, Violent Femmes, Basia Bulat, Ezra Furman, Ghost Mice, Defiance, OH, Devotchka, Sleater-Kinney, Rev Horton Heat, The Kinks, Throw Rag, she & Him, Southern Culture on the Skids, Link Wray, Chuck Berry.

Those Darlins, Sallie Ford and The Sound Outside, Mountain Goats, early punk bands, Tom Waits, Leonard Cohen, Platte River Rain, Terrordactyls, anything rockabilly.

Downton Abbey, Community, Workaholics, The League, Archer, The Simpsons, Arrested Development, Party Down.

I like cooking and I like eating. I'm a total omnivore.
