My self-summary
I look like Maz Kanata, only fatter and missing a leg. Otherwise, I am:

Verbal; usually, but not always.
Prickly: sometimes.
Gregarious introvert.
Fiendish: *wicked grin*
Mischievous: often
Kind: Very, but not particularly *nice.*
Considerably more Dom than sub.
I don't cheat when it comes to committed relationships, and I'm not willing to engage with those who do.

Attracted by intelligence, androgyny, humor, open minds and big hearts, affection, personal integrity, creativity, self-awareness, and hedonism, not necessarily in that order.

If you are drawn to the unusual, aren't fazed by physical and sometimes emotional challenges, know the difference between faze and phase, (and use both correctly) think for yourself, and are willing to work a little to get to the good parts, odds are good we'd like each other.
What I’m doing with my life
Stuff that sounds all lofty and ideal when it's verbalized, but is really just an ongoing slog through the daily mud.
I’m really good at
Communication. Creating elegant solutions. Research, proofreading, entertaining children, compassionate listening, making weird faces, and assorted handcrafts. Emotional support. Over thinking things. Writing sentences that don't include verbs.
The first things people usually notice about me
My left leg ends above the knee, otherwise it depends on which wheelchair I am using at the time.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: The list is close to endless. Lots of science and science fiction, but also historical fiction, fantasy fiction, non-fiction, biographies, fairy tales, cautionary tales, tales of dystopian worlds, cookbooks, encyclopedias, dictionaries--

Serenity, Undead or Alive, Kubo and the Two Strings, The Life of Pi, Hidden Figures. Except for the first two, subject to change without notice.

Eclectic and mood dependent. I never seem to get tired of Leonard Cohen, woodwinds, minor chords, or Prokofiev.

Well prepared, beautifully presented complex meals, Greek yogurt with cheerios, and lots of stuff in between. Flavorful but not too spicy, please.
Six things I could never do without
Words in a row, a smartphone (well I could, but I'd really rather not), asthma medicine, humor, and optical correction. Sticks and string.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
What if...?
Why not...?
What did I learn?
What can I teach?
What's my "next right thing?"
Patterns. All kinds.
How to get from point A to point B.
When will the characters in the science fiction/fantasy stories I write shut up and let me get some sleep?
On a typical Friday night I am
There is no such thing as "typical," but I'd rather be with friends and/or lovers, doing whatever is mutually interesting and enjoyable, than not.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I write. Essays, poems, science fiction, and fantasy. But I do it in private, and wash my hands afterward.

+3 to intelligence if you can source the quote.
You should message me if
I sound appealing to you, and you're willing to say something other than hi, and/or a flattering superlative about my looks.
The two of us
