I love cartoons and video games/board games and really cheesy movies.
Bowling is a thing I have just re-discovered. It's great.
Creating things is really fun. I've worked with my local tv station on various projects. I write, I dabble with music composition, I podcast.
I suppose I'm looking for someone who I can feel comfortable just hanging out with. A person I will trip over myself to impress on a date but would be happy just to gab about media with me. A girl with a razor wit who doesn't take guff from anyone.
Right now I'm working at a community college in their IT department.
I've been trying to record music and post it online on a semi-regular basis. Mostly me just messing around with synthesizers.
In addition to all the silly things I've into I also really love politics. I follow lots of elections and what bills are up for debate. The whole thing is fascinating to me.
Otherwise a lot of my time gets wasted playing games :P
Sci-Fi and Fantasy books and short stories are awesome, particularly stuff by people like William Gibson or Robert E Howard. I also am 4 books into the Game of Thrones series, its reminding me why high fantasy can be awesome.
Outside of those genres Bret Easton Ellis and Vonnegut have some pretty great books.
I am super into '80s movies, all the John Hughes stuff and any cheesy horror flicks.
I'm always down for a good cartoon: Adventure Time, Venture Bros, and Gravity Falls are some of my favorites right now. Those hour-long extended cable shows are always a must as well: Dexter, The Wire, True Detective, plus Ash vs Evil Dead is all I've ever wanted.
My music tastes are super eclectic, I ran the radio station at my college for a number of years so I got exposed to a bunch of different genres. I love the corny '80s synthpop, but also more modern stuff. To name just a few random bands in my library:
- The New Pornographers
- The Mountain Goats
- Daft Punk
- The Menzingers
- Paul Simon
- The Front Bottoms
- Peter Gabriel
- LCD Soundsystem
- Tallest Man on Earth
In terms of food, Sushi is a must, but I also love trying new things.
2. A great adventure story, maybe with some quirky characters and a badass villain.
3. Restaurants. I'm not saying I don't like to cook, I do, but the experience of eating out is so much fun.
4. Great conversation. From gabbing about media to grumbling about politics.
5. Tunes. If you can't tap your toes to it, whats the point?
....I'm still working on this...
Going out for drinks or to see some live music is also a great time.
You want to share the kind of conversation with someone where you just have so many silly topics on the tip of your tongue you forget as many as you remember. That's the best thing about meeting someone...or at least I think so. :P
