My self-summary
These self-summaries are such a pain, aren't they?

I was born in Connecticut and lived in the D.C. Metro area for about seven years, from 2008 to 2015. While down there, I worked as a nanny and spent my weekends working at a winery. I used to live near an Alamo Drafthouse, which is basically heaven for a movie nerd like me. Now that I'm back in Connecticut, I still like to spend my weekends at the movies, or checking out some of the local breweries. This area is lousy with good beer. My goal is to try it all.

I love movies, either going out to the theaters or watching something at home. I'm hoping to find someone who will enjoy watching them with me. As far as sports go, I'm a college basketball junkie and lifelong UConn Huskies fan, so don't be surprised if I disappear during March Madness. Or feel free to join me, that's okay too. I'm also a big Red Sox fan.

I love the theatre, as well, and I love going into NYC to see shows. Sometimes I go into the city just to hang out, too. I love it there.

I don't take things like religion too seriously. All I ask is that you respect my beliefs if they differ from yours, and I promise to do the same.

All in all, I don't take myself too seriously and I'm looking for someone to laugh with me, someone who wants to have a good time. If that sounds good to you, let's get in touch!
What I’m doing with my life
I'm working as a nanny and have been for the last four years. I'm thinking about grad school, just as soon as I can decide what I would like to study. I also have three roommates (three!) so that keeps things interesting.
I’m really good at
Cooking. And telling really bad jokes.
The first things people usually notice about me
My short hair and my glasses. Those are the things that get commented on the most, anyway. What's the first thing you noticed?
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: To Kill a Mockingbird, The Lord of the Rings, The Stand, In the Woods, The Likeness, The Historian

Movies: To Kill a Mockingbird, The Lord of the Rings, Jurassic Park, Argo, Pulp Fiction, Night of the Living Dead, Empire Records, In Bruges

TV Shows: Breaking Bad, The West Wing, M*A*S*H*, Community, Top Chef, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Downton Abbey, Sports Night

Music: Matt Nathanson, Charlotte Martin, Matt Duke, Rosi Golan, Carbon Leaf, Toad the Wet Sprocket, Foster the People, Jay Nash

Food: Anything. I will eat just about anything. Except peanuts/peanut butter. (Weird, right?)
Six things I could never do without
1) My family (so cliche, but what can I say? I come from awesome people.)

2) My friends (I am also surrounded by awesome people.)

3) My movie collection

4) The Internet (Guilty...)

5) A good kitchen

6) Coffee (And tea. I cheated on that last one.)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Where I am in life vs. where I want to go.

On a less introspective note, the movies I've seen, what's been good & what sucks. I did mention I loved movies, right?

And since I'm a nanny, a lot of time is devoted to arts & crafts. Comes with the territory.
On a typical Friday night I am
Usually home, unless there's something going on like a concert. Friday nights are a good time to wind down from the week with a glass of wine or a beer.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Ask and I shall tell!
You should message me if
You think we have something in common. Or if I seem interesting to you. Or if you'd like to get to know me better.
The two of us
