My self-summary
Doing fun and meaningful things around people who inspire me to be a better human.
Finding spots with winter sun and good coffee makes me happy.
Sometimes you have to get uncomfortable to find the reward. Better make sure it's worth it 😉

Crossfit, trail running, triathlons, a marathon, snow.
Wine, cheese, dark chocolate.
Politics, cities,

Humility is a trait I find particularly attractive. Coriander not dill. Cumin not cayenne.
What I’m doing with my life
Looking for my physical limits (crossfit, trail running, cycling, triathlons).

Enjoying my couch and the weak winter sun streaming in through my living room.

Researching and developing public policy.

Worrying about what we're doing to the planet and really hoping we start listening to the smart people soon.

It may sound naff, but trying to be the best version of myself that I can be.

Looking for love in...hopefully the right place :-)
I’m really good at
making lists, finding fun stuff to do, following recipes, talking about and analysing stuff.
Knowing a bit about a lot of things. It also appears I'm quite good at making Monte Carlos.
I'm trying to get better at avoiding my life being a checklist from Stuff White People Like...
The first things people usually notice about me
That I’m one of those nice, normal girls who can have an intelligent conversation about the world. I have pretty strong views about, among other things, politics, the environment and the benefits of eating more vegetables, but don't tend to bring these out when first meeting people ;-)
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: Political books (James Button, Don Watson, Quarterly Essay) and some fiction (Ian McEwan, John Fowles, Jane Austen). I like to think I read other non fiction but judging by the stack of half read books next to my bed that is a dubious claim...
Movies & shows: I'm rubbish at watching scary movies. Some tv: Adam Hills, Borgen, The West Wing, 30 Rock, House of Cards.

Music: Spotify radio is possibly the greatest invention ever - current favourites include The XX, Banks, Frank Ocean, Dire Straits, PJ Harvey, Paul Simon. Aussie hip hop and Triple J to mix it up. Trashy pop is a guilty secret - only when I'm running though ;-)

Pretty much anything Tim Ferriss puts out.

Food: I like to cook, particularly euro style (i.e. simple and beautiful) and am also very grateful for Melbourne's awesome Asian/ Mex/ Euro/ whatever else is cool style and variety. I usually eat pretty well cause I feel better for it, but also like to indulge occasionally. Or more than occasionally. Just not all the time :-)
The six things I could never do without
Good chocolate, wine, cheese, coffee... probably not all at once
Friends and family - what life is all about
A dining table big enough to read the newspaper on. (Not happy about change to tabloid style there The Age, I went out and got a big table especially)
Passport - nothing more exciting than gearing up for an overseas trip
Sunshine and a perfect blue sky. It just makes me feel good, especially in winter
Exercise and being active - keeps me sane and I love the sense of achievement I get from lifting heavy stuff and moving fast
I spend a lot of time thinking about
I'm INTP so I spend a lot of time thinking, full stop...
How much better the public transport system would be if I was in charge (and found a magic money tree).
What should I plant in the pots on my balcony.
Would Ronda Rousey take more than 30 seconds to beat Tony Abbott.
If Dangerwood is going to win the Cats the flag.
How many more refugees we should take
Whether chocolate almonds are better than chocolate covered raspberries (yes, but raspberries are also awesome).
On a typical Friday night I am
Team bonding over a drink or two; going somewhere cool for dinner with friends; watching the footy with beers; trying to second guess tomorrow's WOD or planning tomorrow's trail run
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Sometimes I make a cake or biscuits just so I can lick the bowl...
You should message me if
If you're curious in the world and want to get out there and explore it; if you're witty, smart, humble and all round nice guy; if you're prepared to see the funny side; if you think I sound kind of awesome ;-)
