My self-summary
I'm an extroverted introvert (INTJ last time I checked). I'm outgoing and chatty, but relish and crave quiet, alone time. I love to laugh. I love to be challenged. I love bad puns, nerd humor, making drinking games out of political debates, Redskins football, Syracuse basketball, camping, canoeing/kayaking, playing guitar, trivia games, building things, strong coffee, reading, and laughing at my dog. I have a big family that I don't see too often. My life is really very good.
What I’m doing with my life
Avoiding getting ready for work for one...
I do a bit of travel for work and love my job.

Starting to get into playing tennis. I hate exercising just to exercise; I need a challenge or a task and then I love it.

I have played guitar for Vacation Bible School at my church. Every year I lose my voice screaming songs at the top of my lungs.
I’m really good at
Being humble. (that was a joke)
Bad puns.
Stupid facts/trivia.
Trying new things.
Independent thought.
Basking in laziness.
The first things people usually notice about me
I talk really fast. Someone told me I have sparkly eyes.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius (any Eggers really), Sarah Vowell's books, Anne Lamott, Anne Patchett, Madeline L'Engle. Loved the Harry Potter series, liked the Hunger Games books and wouldn't touch the Twilight books if you paid me. I love to read so this is overwhelming.
Movies: Netflix says I love cerebral comedies and dramas. Monty Python, Neil Simon movies, the Bourne trilogy (I ignore you, Renner). No horror films.
TV: Loved Downton Abbey, Parks & Rec, Community, Good Wife, Homeland, New Girl, etc. The West Wing will always be my jam. Loved Friday Night Lights and Veronica Mars too.
Music: Love a good live show. In one year I saw Lauryn Hill, Mumford and Sons, the Avett Brothers, Lemonheads, Josh Ritter, Dar Williams, Neko Case and the Civil Wars. It was a good year.
Food: I am a fan.
The six things I could never do without
My dog, a beagle mutt named Patsy Cline.
Paper. I love to write. I'm a list maker as well.
Pants. It would just get awkward.
The entire series of "The West Wing"
My bible. I just love to read it. Learn something every time.
Photos of my late friend/mentor/mother figure, whose voice I daily miss.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
How am I impacting the world around me?
Am I a good friend?
Do I love well?
Where would I go if society collapsed in 15 minutes and what would I pack? Do I have time to get lasik surgery before then?
Is this the best timeline?
Am I ever going to finish my book?
Did I remember to feed the dog?
Are we humans or are we dancers?
On a typical Friday night I am
Out with a small group of friends--either having a dinner together, catching up over drinks at 5 Walnut, Thirsty Monk, Imperial Life, Burial or Dirty Jacks or Downtown after 5
I'm exhausted and I'm staying home and I put on my pajamas at 7pm and I'm sleeping for 12 hours, thankyouverymuch.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I really do like some of Taylor Swift's songs.
Not wholly unrelated, I like to sing very loudly while driving and I do over-the-top dramatic hand jestures along with it.
You should message me if
You love Jesus (but aren't a bigot--I strongly stand in support of the LGBT community as a whole), you have at least portions of your life together, you like to laugh, you don't have a face tattoo or a chinstrap beard, you yell at televisions on Sundays in the fall, you don't live at home, banter is a favorite word.
