My self-summary
Overall, I greatly prefer life in overalls.
(though I do love--and look good in--a shirtwaist dress!)

I love capers...
...the pickled kind AND the adventure kind.
What I’m doing with my life
Book slinger, history uncover-er, teacher of simple stop animation.

Also: Carrying rocks in my pockets. Pouring wine. Attempting cross word puzzles. Re-reading books I read when I was 10. Studying sashiko designs. Knitting on very small needles.
I’m really good at
Knitting socks, quilting, writing zines, paper correspondence (real letters!!!!), canning food, making pies, conversation... I'm a pretty old fashioned lady in a lot of ways. Not so old fashioned in others.
The first things people usually notice about me
Physically? My long legs, big hair, and other top heavy attributes.

Other than that, people probably notice that I'm not very shy and that I talk a lot.

I'm almost always really colorful. Like, REALLY colorful. I usually have on about 14 colors at once. Some have described me as a tropical bird. I was born this way.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I mostly read nonfiction, but I love a lot of kinds other books, too (cook books, trashy Amish romance, French comics). I have spent most of my professional career working in libraries so I have been bombarded by lots of great reading material.

Food? Oh, I like food. I have been a quasi-vegetarian (pescatarian/fishitarian) for about 15 years. I eat pretty much anything else. I love sweet and salty snacks, green vegetables, pickled things, fruit pies, cheeses, and unusual carbonated soft drinks. And booze and coffee. I like those a lot. ALSO BOILED PEANUTS. I am somewhat of a connoisseur of them.

I could rattle off bands that would impress you if you are impressed by such things. Let me know if i should do that. Typically I like music that is older than me. If I am a snob about any genre it's bluegrass. Lately I have been really in to Motown. Makes me feel good all over.

George Harrison is my favorite Beatle. So much so that sometimes I forget he was a Beatle.

My top 5 favorite movies are:
Smokey and the Bandit
Sherman's March
White Christmas
All the Real Girls
Cactus Flower

I also reeeeally love spaghetti westerns and have a pretty good collection of them.

Oh. And The Walton's. Uh-may-ziiiiing. Like, my most fav.

WALKING DEAD! Are you my Daryl?!
Six things I could never do without
Besides family and friends and food and water and shelter and stuff like that?

Office supplies, knitting needles, my worn out overalls, new books, a record player/records, and postage stamps.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Growing plants, thunderstorms, travel, new crushes, gas prices, typewritter ribbons, sparkly stuff, running, Twang in light piss beer, properly worn in quilts, carbonated water, Peychaud bitters, making out, and fast cars going in circles on a dirt track.
On a typical Friday night I am
Some combination of the following:

junk teevee
fancy food
hot jams
adventurous locations
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I have really sharp teeth and I'm not afraid to use them.

I have a friend on OKC who said I pop up on lists as being "more messy" and "less interested in sex" than women my age. WTF? Those are both patently untrue. I assure you, I am a tidy, if raging sex pot.
You should message me if
You have kids and/or want to have kids. I don't have baby fever but I know what I want for my eventual future and kids have a place there. That said, maybe we should make out to see if we should progress to reproduction.

You are not intimidated by a tall girl with sass.

If big scars don't scare you. (Not emotional scars but literal ones. This lady has some seams.)

If I have messaged you first, you should totally message me back. It means I think you sound cute, endearing, fun, and worth my time. At least "on paper." So do it already!
