My self-summary
You are bidding on a vintage British model. Well-engineered all round. In surprisingly good shape considering the model year. Gently used by several previous owners for up to seven years at a time. No blemishes and surprisingly few scratches and dents. Low maintenance. Just a little TLC and it will start right up for you every time. Admittedly it has a damn lot of miles on it, mostly traveling the back roads of Europe, and even going off-roading every year in the Nevada Desert to visit Burning Man.
Are there more stylish, newer models out there? Certainly. But for the right person, this one might be perfect. It has a slightly nerdy, retro styling with a dash of "pensive poet," but more importantly, it has a robust all-round functionality suited to a wide range of conditions. Take it to an important engineering meeting; a poetry slam; your parent's house; a group of social activists & theorists; a weekend camping trip; a cookout, you name it. A little cleanup and it is ready to go to some fancy function with the mayor.
If your interests are wide-ranging, this just might be the perfect model for you.
What I’m doing with my life
At various times an electrical engineer, musician, slam poet, philosopher, Burning Man regional contact, exhibit designer, event organizer.... I still do all these things from time to time.
Now working in Medical Education, using lifelike simulator robots to create teaching situations. Enjoy cooking and growing veggies in my organic garden. Manage my property and several ongoing projects. Try to get out to a good show now and again, or a weekend camping trip. Think and reflect a lot, and try to make my world a better place.
I’m really good at
Thinking, inventing, building and dreaming. But knowing when to just Be Here Now.
The first things people usually notice about me
I'm often the shy, observant one at first, but get me talking and pretty soon we'll be chatting and joking like old pals.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I read a lot. Science fiction, philosophy, history, DIY books, even the odd bodice-ripper that is sitting in the free box at Bremen Cafe.... "Mandy of the Plains" or something with a stern cowboy on the cover. That was funny.
I like a lot of music, especially the innovative and foundational stuff. But more in the Dreamy and Mellow category, than the Screeching and Pounding category, if that makes sense.

I first learned to cook with the Italian vocabulary, but I sure like Indian and Thai food, I just can't cook it very well yet. :)
Six things I could never do without
A period of quiet reflection every day. Seriously an hour or two at least.
My network of intelligent friends who humble me.
A noble task that needs doing.
The carelessness to shut off the brain, skip across the road and pick a flower.
A cozy night with a thunderstorm.
The poetry of motion.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Oh geez, anything and everything.
Recently: "Where are all the galactic civilizations that really should be there? What about the universe are we misunderstanding here?"
On a typical Friday night I am
Having a meeting, seeing some live music or going out dancing, or maybe all at once.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
That I value privacy. Some people say that privacy is outmoded, it's all on the Internet anyway. But it seems to me that if every aspect of your life is public, it becomes more of a show than an actual life. I can keep a confidentaility forever, and your life or our life is never fockin' show to me.
You should message me if
You are interesting, you like what I say, and might be interested in a very unique, vintage British-made model, high miles but a lot to offer! :)
