My self-summary
Former Californian who is enjoying to life on the other coast.

I'm a bit of a serial hobbyist and I'm constantly on the lookout for new things to try. A few of these hobbies include skateboarding, slacklining , running, and weight lifting. My real passion though is Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, which if you don't know is kind of like wrestling (the kind done in college, not the kind done by The Rock) but in pajamas.
What I’m doing with my life
Currently I'm working as an engineer building satellite parts. I spend a lot of time wrestling with excel, running experiments, and trying to look like I know what I am doing. Occasionally I help build things that go into space, which can be pretty cool.
I’m really good at
Locking myself out of places. My current record for apartment lock outs is 3 times in a single day (2 of those were within an hour of themselves).
The first things people usually notice about me
I tend to talk with my hands, which can be a problem since I have a poor sense of where my body is in space. I may have accidentally punched a stranger in the face while gesturing during a story.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: 1984 (1984 > Brave New World), Devil in the White City, The New York Trilogy, Hot Zone, Y: The Last Man, Preacher. Current Book: Count Zero.

TV Shows: I'm a big fan if Joss Whedon shows, Hannibal (criminally underrated), Top Gear (the UK version), Rick and Morty, and True Detective.

Movies: The Muppets (it is a fact that everything is better with Muppets), Pulp Fiction, Hot Fuzz, and The Thing.

Music: I can listen to The Strokes and RHCP on repeat forever. Childish Gambino and Young the Giant are current interets.

Podcasts/radio: I love Plant Money, Radio Lab, Serial and This American Life. If I could have one superfluous wish it would be for Ira Glass to narrate my life.

Food: I'll happily eat anything (well almost anything), but nothing beats a good burrito. Also if Kogi ever branches out to DC I would get fat.
Six things I could never do without
1. Music
2. A huge backlog of books
3. Some game to play (board games!)
4. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu/Judo
5. Coffee (how I got through grad school)
6. New topics to obsess over
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I cannot open a banana without a knife.

I have only only read the first 4 Harry Potter books (and have only seen moves 1-4 and 6)
You should message me if
You can teach me how to pick out avocados or pineapples. I seem to have a knack at picking out semi rotten fruit (worst skill ever).
