My self-summary
Well...let's see, I'm Amanda. I work a lot of hours, but I like it that way. I love my job. On the chance that I am off, I like nature. I'm usually out walking my dog, taking him to the park or just sitting in my backyard.

I'm honestly just a big nerd. I love to go anywhere where I can learn, e.g, zoos, museums, galleries, aquariums. I also am a huge concert junkie. I love concerts. I enjoy older grunge/alt music. Sublime is one of my all time favorite bands. Of course no one can touch The Beatles. Never before has each member of a band been so uniquely talented on their own. Coming together as one mind put them on a whole other playing field. I also love Pearl Jam, Led Zeppelin, Stevie Ray Vaughan and John Mayer, The Toadies, Eve6, Biggie, Coolio, A Perfect Circle, Radiohead. My music is super eclectic if you can't tell. I like just about everything, but grunge and older rock is what I was raised on and is what helped shape me.

I'm not a person who likes drama, I'm more of a mellow "let life happen" kind of person. I'm enjoying where I'm at in life and I'm extremely happy and just want some new people to share that with!

My family is a huge part in my life. Where they go, I go. My mom and I have an extremely close relationship, she has seen me through some of my hardest times and I appreciate her so much for that. If I grow up to be even a fraction of the woman she is I will be happy.

People tend to describe me as a hippie, I wear a lot of long dresses, skirts, I like to go barefoot whenever I can and I love the sun. :-)

I am a lover of everything color. I try to incorporate as much color into my life as possible; as much art as possible.

I love bike riding. I never realized how much I loved riding them as a kid until I bought one a few months back. I go everywhere on my bike. Its keeping me in better shape then I use to be which in turn has made me feel better in general. I, one day, would love to do a marathon.

I do not like to wear clothes. This is a new discovery for me. I use to have incredibly low self-esteem. Over the past 6 months I have changed everything about who I was. Not in spite of who I was, but because I felt trapped in an unhappy part of my life. Something clicked one day, that I am young and I have my whole life to live and I should live it in any way that makes me happy. And I have. I have discovered so many things about me that I never knew. I am so excited to live this life.
What I’m doing with my life
Right now I work at an animal specialty hospital. We deal with emergencies, special surgery cases, cancer cases, neurological cases and all kinds of other cool and crazy things. I absolutely love this job. It's fulfilling and it keeps me in touch with my compassionate side. I have learned to become sympathetic and relate to pet owners who come in worried about their pet. I mean, unless you have lost a pet who is like a family member, it's hard to know what these people are going through. But I feel that if I can be just a tiny glimpse of kindness in this tough time, you better believe I'm going to show them that I feel for them.
I’m really good at
Relating to people. People come in all the time and I try my hardest to put myself in their shoes. Sympathy and Empathy are what make the world a better place. If there is not thoughtfulness within the human race, we would not survive. Part of working together is being able to relate to your peers and yes, even strangers.
The first things people usually notice about me
I'm pretty witty, that's usually the first thing people notice about me. I'm pretty much a wall flower for the first 3 minutes and then I bust out with a witty comment and I'm in my element. Haha. But as far as physical, I've heard I have really great eyes.

I spend a lot of time thinking about
Our earth. I mean, for thousands of years she has mothered nature, and has taken care of mankind. The earth offers so much beauty and enjoyment for life. I love to drive with no goal, to just drive and see the earth. I could drive for hours and hours and never feel bored. Most people miss out on the beauty of nature. Going into a forest, breathing clean, crisp air the way Mother Nature intended makes you realize you're a part of something bigger than yourself and we were given the responsibility of loving her.
On a typical Friday night I am
I have no specific plans scheduled...anything that appeals.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Well, I'm deathly afraid of the dark. I have a nightlight in every hallway. There is not a room in my house that doesn't have a light in it at night.
