My self-summary
I like to think of myself as an amalgam of many different types, not fitting any particular genre, but always challenging stereotypes. I'm very comfortable with who I am, love who I am, and prefer to surround myself with people who accept and love who I am as well.

I love to sit at and read in a busy coffee shop with lots of people watching. I like going on walks through the city and hikes through the mountains alone. Meeting new people is one of my favorite activities, and yet I'm very selective about who I call a friend. I also adamantly believe in platonic friendships.

I'm comfortable with my sexuality, comfortable with my masculinity, confident in my presence. I hate the game, but also acknowledge that there are consequences if you don't play. Thus, life is about balancing playing by the rules and challenging the rules at the same time.

Many people mistake me for pretentious, I'm not. I'm quiet when I meet someone until I have a sense of who they are. I'm very warm and friendly once I know someone.
What I’m doing with my life
I used to be a pretty die hard workaholic. I've spent the past year focusing on living my life, not just building a career. I work in the tech industry, and I absolutely love it. However, life is about more than just making the most money or having the best title. That being said, I did just get a pretty sweet title ;)
I’m really good at
Social Interactions, managing politics whether publicly or within a
company, computer and data center hardware, and math and philosophy. I'm also a very fast learner, and enjoy learning new things constantly.
The first things people usually notice about me
My confidence.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: Hunger Games, Crime and Punishment, Deamons, The Unbearable Lightness of Being, The Screw Tape Letters, Mere Christianity, Zamyatin's "We," 1984, Brave New World, Three Sister, The Overcoat, Lord of the Rings, etc.

Recently I've read: The Maze Runnier Series, The Mortal Instrument Series, The Gate Thief, The lost Gate, Terry Goodkind, The Divergent series, and I'm about to dive into the Ender seies. (I put my Barnes and Noble membership to good use)

Music: I've recently been getting into Dubstep. Classical, Erik Satie, Ride of the Cossack, ironically Rave music too. I'm not a huge fan of a lot of lyrical music but I do like Evanescence, Sum 41, and others. I like a song that doesn't need words to convey its meaning.

Movies: "I <3 Huckabee's," "Big Gay Musical," "Saved," "Pride
and Prejudice," "Beautiful Thing," and yes, "A Muppet's Christmas Carol." many many more as well.

Shows: Lost Girl, Dollhouse, actually anything Josh Whedon, Glee, GREEK, Dr. Who, Veronica Mars, South Park, although in general I watch more British television that American.

Food: Vietnamese, Sushi, Steak, Wild Game, I like to blend my own seasonings and make up recipes. I like most any food other than italian, I'm not a pasta fan.
Six things I could never do without
You know, this whole idea is a bit ridiculous, I could probably do without most things if I really needed to. So here's the real answer:

6 things I would strongly prefer not to do without:
Good friends
The Mountains
Public Speaking / Writing
Great Restaurants
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Everything, I'm an overthinker, and i will think something through well beyond "normal levels." I think a lot about work, our industry, what's going on, and the possible future trends. With people, I like to figure out what makes them tick. I try to understand the people around me, without them directly having to explain themselves to me. I also think a lot about the future, and how we can impact it.

My motto: Just because we all have to play the game, doesn't mean I have to cheat to win.

Favorite Quotes:
"Math is at best a tool, and at worst a weapon used to achieve our goals, blind to ethics, justice, or compassion. Just like a gun, math cares not for who it destroys, and when weilded incorrectly can just as easily kill its master as its intended target." -ask me on this one.

"In some sort of crude sense, which no vulgarity, no humor, no overstatement can quite extinguish, the physicists have known sin; and this is a knowledge which they cannot lose" -Oppenheimer

"Until you have something worth dying for, you aren't really living." - unknown

"In the end, it's not the years in your life that count. It's the life in your years." Abraham Lincoln
On a typical Friday night I am
I work downtown... Happy hour is a ritual. After that my Friday nights tend to go the way the wind takes me. Mexican and Margaritas. Clubbing with my straight friends. Dinner and conversations at friends house. The occasional quiet night in.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I can speak in front of hundreds, but am actually kind of shy. I can start a conversation with strangers, but my heart still pounds everytime. I used to be an introvert, but nobody would believe me for a second if I told them. I seem unapproachable, but prefer to be approached. I still am shocked if someone has read my work, or knows who I am. And despite the confidence, I do realize how extremely rare it is for someone my age to be in the role that I'm in. I know I'm far from perfect, but like to think I'm a work in progress. I'm a little too familiar with loss in life, but I still have hope.
You should message me if
You've seen me about and never said hello.
You like what you read above.
You are intrigued by me and want to know more.
We were chatting and fell out of touch (my schedule does that to me a lot...)
You do believe that love and monogamy still exist.
You do believe that gay men can be platonic friends!
You have that burning question you always wanted to ask a gay, Christian, frat boy, but never could muster the courage.
Or feel free to hit me up to talk about anything in my profile... life is a constant lesson, very few beliefs are absolute and even in disagreement we can only strengthen our own convictions.
If you want to talk technology, philosophy, mathematical theory.

Oh and if you're 5'8, brown hair, blue eye, european, intellectually stimulating, and a bit of a work-a-holic... I might be in love.

My Mom thinks I'm going to end up with a Politician or a Lawyer...ouch mom...ouch... but she's probably right.
