I'm looking for a partner who is just that: a sexy companion who loves the lens through which I see the world and helps me expand by introducing me to new views and experiences. A meaning-making co-pilot. I have incredibly varied friendships and want someone who can transverse alongside and not only enjoy the ride but love me even more for it.
Maybe you speak more than one language. Maybe you call yourself a feminist. Maybe you listen to podcasts and rock a live storytelling event. Maybe community is vital to you-whatever that looks like. Maybe you value questioning and wondering. Maybe all of those things or none of them.
I'm proud of what I've done and who I am-accomplished my doctorate by 30 but even more so, studied something that truly mattered to me (and a few other folks). Now I'm in LA and ready to meet someone who not only isn't threatened by a beautiful Jewess who has a strong sense of self but is even more attracted because of it.
And please-dry humor, wit, and conversationalist engagement is incredibly welcome.
Words that friends and past loves have used to describe me: nurturing, intense, hysterical, driven, warm, and curious.
I am loving, expressive, and tend to tell it like it is.
Spend a lot of time thinking and discussing death, trauma, resilience, healing, and care-giving.
Trying to figure out what life in LA can be like after finishing school last year (for which I relocated from my beloved San Francisco).
I am a yogini, great book store discover-er, red wine drinker, food & culinary enjoyer and cooker, conscious social justice-er, avid This American Life/The Moth/Invisibilia/On Being/TEDTalks listener, traveler, cross cultural explorer, handstand admirer, and more.
I take pride in my bookshelf. Some people go into people's medicine cabinets. I analyze folks by the books in their home.
If I'm talking, my entire body is involved. So there's that, too.
Father G & Jorja Leap's books will give you a really good idea about what moves my heart and feet.
Now reading Americanah by Ngozi Adichie. It's beautiful.
(Just got published in Rick Ayers' new book. So that's exciting.
Hammocks, strong Peets coffee, the sound of the New York Times landing on the steps Sunday morning, the feeling of my body after yoga, the smell of just cut grass, how San Francisco looks after a good rain, fall leaves, the smell of challah in the oven...

-How to be conscious of life's blessings---the balance between being present and being driven in my vision of the future
Also, I should warn that I am usually attracted to men who are tall, burly, and strong-hearted. If you don't have "the gym" listed as one of your six things, all the better. If you have a tendency to be attracted to strong willed women who have a solid sense of self and aren't threatened by that but are even more turned on, even better.
