My self-summary
Sometimes I sleep on the couch for no reason a la Fox Moulder.

I love live music & dusty records. Biking, hiking, the usual Bay Area outdoor pursuits, those too.

I'm told I'm a good egg. My moral compass is functional. Woke.

My friends: intelligent, hilarious, and warm-hearted. Also won't hesitate to call you on your shit. Love 'em for all those reasons.

Weekend excursions, short trips, and job-quitting long escapes-- I'm up for all of 'em. I've lived in a few different places: Annapolis, MD > Southwest Harbor, ME > Queenstown, New Zealand > Boothbay Harbor, ME > San Francisco

I keep seeing references to tiger pics on guys' profiles. Are they really that common? And who is getting these tigers doped up enough that these tourists can take pictures with it?
What I’m doing with my life
Journalist. Advertising and PR pay the bills.
I’m really good at
I build and maintain relationships well.

I know my way around a grill and like to cook.

And I'd like to think that I'm a good host.

I want to take dance lessons. Learn to play another instrument. And take more road trips. . .
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I'll name names: Badu, Kaytranada, Bob Moses, Sturgill Simpson, Smokey Robinson, Howlin Wolf, Dizzy Gillespie, Alabama Shakes, LCD Soundsystem, Dirtybird. . .

Books: Recently finished "A Confederacy of Dunces" and it is f'n hilarious. "Between the World and Me" by Ta-Nehisi Coates was riveting though it's conclusions were pretty grim.

Shows: The usual HBO suspects-- The Wire, GOT, John Oliver, and I really enjoyed watching Treme in its entirety before a trip to New Orleans. Sports. 30 Rock. SNL. Parks & Rec...

Aziz Ansari's show about dating, the current culture of young-ish people living in the city was so on point it's a little scary.
The six things I could never do without
My radio
A booked up concert & social calendar
Body of water nearby
A sense of humor
Good books
I spend a lot of time thinking about
What activity I'm getting into next. I think carefully about social justice. And I daydream about what the natural world looked like before being developed.
On a typical Friday night I am
Getting dinner with few friends, catching a show, or going out. Might be a quiet night, which has its virtues.
You should message me if
You want to know what's playing around SF. Or what bars are good and which ones are for bros and yuppies. You want to enjoy drink and a show or a coffee and a museum. You're aware and want to explore the world.
