I'm a man who is likely well known for his idiosyncrasies. Learning about the unique challenges of character in a partner is one of my favorite aspects of getting to know someone--and they're usually the things I come to hold as most endearing. Typically people lead with their best...but I'm looking for someone equally "human" and full of quirks, so I'm just going to throw some of the more surprising admissions about me out into the open.
I've never thought of my life as having a "calling"...more like a general direction or flow. Someday (soon, hopefully), I'd like to know love and maybe think about a family. Until then, I aspire to be rich in experiences. Though not rabidly ambitious, I am very hard-working, pride myself on the quality of my labors, and am capable of selfless dedication. Lofty goals aren't important--I'm trying to enjoy every step of the journey.
Years of bad/no luck in love may have left me a bit shy when it comes to meeting women--but I actually do have a big heart, and am eager to share it.
I traded in my car in 2008 for a commitment to a more sustainable, self-sufficient lifestyle. Rarely happier than when I'm on my bike--thank you very much!
The only thing scarier than a crowd of people I don't know is a crowd of people I DO know. Unless the social event is dancing, I'm more of an intimate gathering kind of guy.
Back home, I was one of the only Jesus-loving liberals you'd probably ever meet. In the grand scheme of things, most of you will recognize me as a sensible "centrists" who values free-thinking and free-choice. Not so into organized religion, but I consider myself a man of faith.
Shopping is something I enjoy, but can be quite overstimulating...results cannot be guaranteed in a timely manner.
I love the outdoors and traveling...but the thought of leaving home for more than a day is, initially, paralyzing. I was the kid who needed their mom to come pick him up at your sleepover. Yet, somehow, I regularly succeed in challenging myself to far-flung adventures that I end up cherishing.
Despite years working as a high-end professional cook, when it comes to my dinner, I'm quite content with a salad and a modest fillet of fish. I'm happy to cook for you, though : )
I am looking for someone who is ready and open to a serious relationship. I'm not ready to settle down, necessarily, so much as I am ready to open my heart up and share in the richness of a meaningful partnership.
Navigating without a map.
Seeing the details.
Telling time with no watch.
Keeping plants alive.
What really matters is...
Food! Going out to dinner is an important part of any urban experience. Adventurous taste-buds and an appreciation for cuisine ranging from refined to out-and-out messy will serve you well when dining with me.
FYI: my typical playlist is a mash-up that will have you guessing. 90s child; club-ready teen; Indie loving ex. I won't judge anything you are listening to. I love to share music; and dance; get caught-up in a good beat, or let-go of the unseen.
however, I'm especially fond of my cat;
...and I really enjoy midnight snacks.
Coffee is a must if you hope to get anywhere with me before 1pm.
Other things that might give us an edge would include:
Sustainability being a priority in your lifestyle.
You think a man without a full head of hair can still be sexy (or at least cute, in my case!)
You enjoy staying up late (or at least don't mind if your partner does).
Dialogue with someone prior to meeting is an enjoyable and desirable part of this OKC process.
You thinking material to be generally overrated.
Adventure is always calling...
A desire to proliferate happiness, at home and throughout the world!
