Moved to Brooklyn a year ago after 5.5 years in San Francisco (probably my most significant move since it wasn't related to school). Still getting used to things like cold, snow, 24-hour transit, and people always in a rush.
I graduated with my undergraduate degree from UCLA in Marine Biology (why you see me scuba diving!), and wrapped up my master's degree in public health (specifically global environmental health) at Emory. Commissioned into the Commissioned Corps of the US Public Health Service, and here for a job.
It's been slow going settling into a new city that's so big in both size and people, and where I don't want to go out half the year due to either cold or humidity, so...help me explore!
I'm also pretty involved with the contemporary a cappella community, having started a group at UCLA, and working as a producer for the Varsity Vocals International Championship of College/High School A Cappella. So, if you love to sing, hit me up!
Also, still dreaming for the day that I could be an Imagineer, though I imagine that that ship has long sailed with my career path and education. Ah well, I can still pretend.
b) Finding Nemo, The Incredibles, Cars (anyone sense a theme here?)
c) Great college a cappella
d) Californian, Mexican, Japanese, Thai, Chinese, Korean, Italian, French (OMG I miss good Mexican food. I'm still looking for a burrito joint. If you have one, please let me know!)
otherwise, you'll usually find me thinking about nature (specifically, the enormity of the ocean and how insignificant we are...aka sitting on a rocky shoreline at sunset), health issues, and music, specifically how to make a cappella better.
oh, and where my next travel plans may take me.
But I will say this....I'm kinda terrible at checking messages, despite having the OKC app. If I don't respond for a while, I promise I'm not ignoring you! :-/
