My self-summary
"A gentle type, with a tendency to be pleasantly surprised."
What I’m doing with my life
I support children with special needs in a Hackney secondary school. It's amazing, and I'm going to work and being delighted pretty much every day. I'm currently going through the application process to teach History in secondary schools.

I play football, banjo and sing, though less often than I'd like.
I’m really good at
I can sing and cook pretty well. If you reckon you could sing June's part in Jackson, Emmylou's part in Hickory Wind or Gillian's part in By The Mark, please do let me know! Pub quizzes.

Oh, and if you think you can play foosball? Bring it.
The first things people usually notice about me
I'm told it's my laugh, as it usually precedes me into a room by a good 20 minutes. Also my eyes and my smile. But don't they all say that?
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
There used to be looooong lists here. They're available on request. I don't expect a request.

Music: Bluegrass, old-time country. Depends on my mood though, can be anything. Diplo mixes hit the fucking spot. The Prhyme album is ridiculously good.

Movies: Naked Gun, Dead Man, Blazing Saddles. Anything else by Mel Brooks.

Books: Carter Beats The Devil, Molesworth, The Amazing Adventures Of Kavalier & Clay (and most other things written by Michael Chabon).

Comedy: Looney Tunes, Bill Hicks, The Goon Show, I'm Sorry I'll Read That Again.

Food: Mexican, Vietnamese, BBQ.
Six things I could never do without
Other people
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Food. Puns. Songs. People.
On a typical Friday night I am
You know that thing, the thing all the cool kids do on a typical Friday night? Well, yeah, I'm doing that. On a spaceship. Twice.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I really like Flying Without Wings by Westlife. *stands up and walks meaningfully towards camera with the key change*

Oh, and I can't fucking stand Stewart Lee.

Fondness for humour (particularly puns and wordplay) pretty much mandatory. The ability to hold a conversation always helps, as do common interests and the ability to look like something more attractive than the back end of a bus. Someone who gives an actual fuck about something. Someone who's willing to say what she wants and then discuss it. Someone who knows her own mind, is able to express herself and be challenged on it. Sound like anyone you know?
