My self-summary
I'm easy going but am told I can be intense - well intense by people who don't know what I'm talking about - though of course I don't always know what I'm talking about - as opposed to passionate by those who do! Then again some just think I'm a mad bastard, or a combination of the above.
So maybe I'm not easy going after all, but I am easy! - that's just a taste of my deft/daft wit - you can be the judge of that.
In between the good, bad and ugly I try to love and enjoy people, music, art, nature, food and drink and all the stories associated with these things.

Righto, moving along...

ps in the spirit of disclosure it should be known that I'm pretty beardy looking at the moment. Note to self: update photos. Extra note: update terrible updated photo with beard, I look like an implausible caliph.
What I’m doing with my life
contemplating revolutions (both old and hopefully new), eating, cooking, playing Indie computer games, and more recently being a full time povo student studying a community development degree, which makes a nice change from just being povo.
I’m really good at
cooking Italian food, jamming with my guitar and harps, long rambling conversations, I'm a good op-shopper and am also very good at swearing at the TV, particularly at ruling class c*&%s and their apologists. Oh, I'm also an excellent camper. And finally I'm very good at warding off depression by thinking of things to say in either a Geordie or Scouse accent. Next time you're feeling shit house just pretend you're Ringo Starr and say something, anything in his accent and you'll be rewarded with a little bit of happiness.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: at the moment I'm trying to find as much (New) Weird Fiction as I can get my hands on.

I also read a lot of non fiction, mostly Marxist politics and history. As for fiction my favourites are Italo Calvino, , China Mievile and David Malouf... I love David Malouf! Also I was really into Camus as a teenager; he had a big impact on me. Recently I've been getting into Anna Kavan and M. John Harrison.
Movies/shows: I like most things by Herzog and Tarkovsky; the films of Peter Watkins, Ken Loach and Tony Gatlif. I love the animated art of Yuri Norstein. Some of my favourite films are My Life as a Dog, The Edge of Heaven, Rust and Bone, My Brother is an Only Child and Micmacs. I like my fair share of mindless popcorn flicks aswell.
As for TV I like all the great English stuff, Blackadder, Black Books, Spaced, Green Wing etc. I do like my sci-fi escapism too, so I'd have to list Star Trek TNG, Farscape, Firefly. Oh and I like Breaking Bad, True Detective, Bloodline, The Wire and The Walking Dead. Oh and I hate Wes Anderson films with a passion! Don't get me started on em!

Music: I hate answering this one! I like free jazz, hard bop, post bop, avant garde, blues, folk, country, soul, Afro-Cuban, Mallian music, middle eastern classical music, free electro, punk, Indian, Irish music, Manouche, Western classical, Texan swing, Texas Czech, Flamenco, music from mars and outer space etc etc.

Food: my favourite food is Italian because that is what I cook best and I have a soft spot for Italy as a I lived there for a short while many moons ago. I do like most Mediterranean, North African and Middle Eastern cuisines. I'm also a recent vegetarian convert.
Six things I could never do without
solitude, books, music, the wind and love.

...and tea, I really like tea.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
everything I've mentioned so far and more
On a typical Friday night I am
-listening to records
-Swearing at the football on the TV (during winter of course)
-Flopping on the couch in front of the tube
-At the local watering hole desperately trying not to look desperate
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Dr Who scared the shit out of me when I was a kid.
