My self-summary
My cat's breath smells like cat food and the bumper sticker on my car says, "Compromise 2016."

I am not sure there's much to tell - I joined the Army at 18 because I wanted the experience I'd need to run for political office. Three deployments and some four duty stations later, that's still the plan.

I am what you'd call a Southern Democrat - that is, socially liberal, pro-gay rights and pro-choice, but also strong on defense and have no use for fringed groups from the left and right. I despise Occupy Wall Street as much as I do abortion clinic protesters. Overall, I think that we need a more mature and analytical approach to politics. The fellow Americans with whom we disagree aren't our enemies. We have a responsibility to listen to and work with them to build a better America.

I am a feminist - but I don't protest or have a picture of Gloria Steneim hanging on the wall or anything (though I did have dinner with her once). I guess you could say I am more of a conservative feminist rather than a progressive one.

As for relationships, I need someone who intellectually satisfies me. If there is no intellectual growth in a relationship, what's the point? For companionship and sex, there is always the bar.
What I’m doing with my life
Right now, I work as a writer for the Department of Defense. As mentioned above, I want to be a U.S. senator one day. If that fails, I plan on being a Constitutional attorney for either party. I am also told I'd be good at running an NGO - but that's not my calling.
I’m really good at
How about I tell you what I am bad at? Math, keeping organized, dancing, singing, getting enough sleep, being nice to stupid people and thumb wrestling.

Outside of work, I am also pretty bad at getting to places on time.
The first things people usually notice about me
My shiny, smooth, well-shaven bald head.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Little Women is one of my favorite books of all time - I think it's sort of a guide to being a good person, though I mainly read non-fiction policy stuff. I am partial to Hemingway, though - and I am a regular reader of the New York Times.

I cook a lot - mainly American South (which is not the same thing as South American, mind you), but lately, I've also explored international cuisines.

As for music: Beethoven and Fountains of Wayne - and I am a sucker for oldies and country.
Six things I could never do without
I am not sure there is anything I cannot live without, but I definitely put my car to good use. I also love Red Bull, water, politics, and books.

But the one thing I know I would die without is my ambition. What drives me keeps me alive and gives me a purpose. I cannot imagine a life in which I am done chasing goals and ambitions.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Feminism, politics, policy, nation-building from a foreign policy perspective, why people behave the way they do, Constitutional law, my future, and legal theories.

I also think about football - although the Miami Dolphins break my damn heart each year. And babies. I think babies are fucking cool.
On a typical Friday night I am
Nowadays, my Fridays are spent at home ironing or watching something boring on Netflix - mainly because it's too cold here in Watertown, but also because I am fairly new here and know no one.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I write a lot of erotica - that's enough to "whet" your appetite for now.

Oh, and I peed on the street the first time I was in New York City! It was ... cleansing.
