My self-summary
(I'm dating somebody! I'm really just keeping this because it represents 4 years of growth and personal introspection. I'll get rid of it when I figure out how to save it all haha) Yoooo. I'm Mark and I just moved to Boston from Michigan. First thing's first: If you ever need a beer buddy to go to pubs with and unabashedly drink PBR I'm your guy. Beer is a social activity that not enough people take advantage of. I actually really like updating my profile here. It forces me to be introspective, which is not a natural skill of mine, and its a good exercise in humble confidence. I tend to go through phases of overshare/undershare, and I hope to be somewhere in the middle right now. If there's some glaring absence in my profile just ask!

I'm interested in comic books and cats and beer and queerness and sociopolitical anarchy and language and tarot cards (The Aquarian Tarot by David Palladini is so pretty) and television and dogs and archery and dumb walks (all of those 'and's are on purpose. It's a Whitman thing).
What I’m doing with my life
Going to school to get my MLIS, looking for good pubs, and taking care of my cat, Starbuck. I'm also trying to find a job I guess.
I’m really good at
Talking to literally anyone. A part of my old job required me to have small talk with really important university donors and guests and it was really intimidating but now I can chat it up with everyone and that makes it really easy to make friends.

I also have a killer work ethic, especially if my reputation is on the line.
The first things people usually notice about me
Maybe my smile. I used to win lots of "friendly face" awards in kindergarten. But I don't really know. People don't make a habit of telling me what it is they notice about me.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
The City and the Pillar by Gore Vidal, Mules and Men by Zora Neale Hurston, The Time Traveler's Wife by Audrey Niffenegger, Leaves of Grass by Walt Whitman, Moby Dick by Herman Melville, and to keep the list short, I'll end at Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card. I read a lot, so just ask and who knows! This is just a short list of my absolute favorites. I decided not to update this list anymore because it's frustrating to keep up. Yo I like books get off my back.

I tried keeping this short...I failed: Elizabeth: The Golden Age, Star Trek (2009), Flash Gordon (1980), Les Miserables, Kill Bill I & II, Wall-E, Marie Antoinette, The Wind That Shakes the Barley, The Lord of the Rings trilogy, Belle, Pitch Perfect, V for Vendetta, and literally anything from Studio Ghibli. Seriously, if Ghibli made it or Miyazaki played a hand in it, I love it. I will never dislike a Ghibli movie. My favorite is Kiki's Delivery Service. Followed closely by Princess Mononoke.

Always Sunny In Philadelphia, Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack, Regular Show, Ed, Edd, & Eddy, Pushing Daisies, Space Dandy, Cowboy Bebop, Samurai Champloo, True Blood, Teen Wolf, Tyrant, Halt and Catch Fire, House Hunters/International, Bob's Burgers, Love It or Lost It, Property Brothers, Star Trek (DS9, TNG, TOS), and American Horror Story...I try to keep my television light.

The Killers, Beyoncé, Adele. Those are my mainstays. You're honestly going to have to ask about others because they come and go. Of Monsters & Men, Fleetwood Mac, Streetlight Manifesto, Lorde, Kanye West, Matt & Kim, Iron & Wine, Deb Talan, Johnnyswim, Sia, some varies.

VIDEO GAMES (because fuck food that's why)
I like Mass Effect, Skyrim, The Last of Us, and Uncharted. I'll play whatever but that's an expensive hobby I can't keep up with. I just got Destiny for the PS3 and I need strike team/crucible friends.
The six things I could never do without
-sleeping. forever.
-A good library
-Mike Mignola
-The Killers
-Star Trek
I spend a lot of time thinking about
I'm usually thinking about what I wanna do when I grow up. My mind is usually far into the future. I spend a lot of time thinking about comic books and my next cosplaying adventure.

Also thinking about going on actual adventures. Like with swords and shit. I need to vanquish evil.
On a typical Friday night I am
Either sitting next to my friends while we're all silent on our computers or drinking too much alcohol at a bar or club. Both are fine. Both are fun!
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I really want to be a werewolf. They're cool as shit. This isn't private at all. If you know me well enough you know about my unabashed obsession with werewolves.
You should message me if
Talk to me about your school, or what kind of future you're looking forward to. I love it when people have things to tell me, even if they don't think I'll be interested.
