My self-summary
I'm a greenhorn. That is, I throw myself into adventures for no reason better than it seemed like fun, and fail until I succeed at it. I work until I get bored; play until I get bored; sleep until I get bored; then work again.

Right now I'm starting to lock myself into a career in the oilfield - riding the boom and bust cycle until I can retire and do whatever.

I'm the kind of guy that deals with his misfortunes with a casual ease; I've come to expect the worst, and to keep my resources close at hand.

I like good food good wine, and anyone with the talent to make or serve them properly. I'm a terrible cook but an enthusiastic one, and a somewhat talented winemaker.

I am unaffected, underdressed, and unconcerned
What I’m doing with my life
Signed on with a big oil company for a job with AMAZING earning potential but a truly hellish schedule.
I’m really good at
Dropping everything. I have my priorities, and the people in my life come before anything else. I skipped both midterms in my short-lived college career because someone else was more important to me. I commit; which has forced me to learn how to cope when the sails tear and the mast breaks.
The first things people usually notice about me
Devilishly good looking. That or the lopsided grin that leaves my face only to laugh. Or out of control eyebrows.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books/Plays/Musicals :The Little Curiousity Shop (Dickens), La Commedia (Dante), A Midsummer Night's Dream, To Build a Fire (London), The Phantom Tollbooth, The Music Man

Movies: Ocean's Eleven (original and latest), The Italian Job (original), My Neighbor Totoro

Music: Classic Rock, Jazz, Bluegrass, Ancient Pop. I listen to anything that *was* popular but isn't now.

Food: Salmon. King of Fish. Any style, any method so long as it is delicious. Same goes for other dishes, but I tend to drink more when the food is spicy. Nepalese is pretty good. Duck is also delicious. Same for cake, baked potatoes, new york strip, buffalo, lobster, crab, ahi ahi, shrimp, lamb, dumplings, fried chicken, fettucine michael and well, anything.
The six things I could never do without
A reliable mode of transportation (be it a car, a bike, or a good pair of shoes), a shelter (a tent, hammock, or keys to an apartment), a good water filter, access to delicious food (even a pop tart is fine cuisine when you're hungry enough), a good story, and someone somewhere to tell it to.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
How on earth I'm going to keep affording salmon omelets. =. And how to not screw up hollandaise sauces. And then accounting.
On a typical Friday night I am
Having honey lager with fried pickles; thinking about getting a dance partner.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I broke up with my girlfriend of two years and it devastated me. I'm pretty sure I don't *get* relationships. Or at least not her. She thought we didn't fight enough. ??? So I'm a fool and I fell in love, I guess. C'est la vie. Got over it. I like to have fun these days.
You should message me if
You know how to cook, dance, or where the party's at. Or a place to go for the weekend to hang.
