My self-summary
Welcome to my OKC page. Go ahead, crack a beer. It may be a while before you reach the end, but I assure you it will be worth the no money you and I have paid for the pleasure of being here.

the short list:
-NPR voices
-cooking and food bloggery
-theater (acting, shows, improv)
-nerding out on some board games
-Hamilton. Except the five seconds of the whole thing where Lin-Manuel Miranda says "I was chosen for the Constitutional Convention!" I hate those five seconds.
-new things (see: trying)
-hiking and camping (which serve as excellent vehicles to the important part: bourbon around a campfire)
-being big in Japan
-craft beer
-volunteering (a.lot.)
-general dilettantery

I like philosophy, but I think I'm doing it wrong.
What I’m doing with my life
I love my job, directing and developing the e-learning strategy for continuing medical education at a very patient-centered medical society.

My other job is President at Young Involved Philly. While I'm not the type to get up in your face about it, I believe in the whole voting and volunteering thing and it'd be great if you did too.

Also sometimes I cook. I used to blog about it, but it turns out that planning to cook, cooking, and writing about having cooked are all things that take time... Still, got my #bloglife badge.
I’m really good at
Running, teaching, learning, referencing that thing from 30 minutes ago, empathizing, rug-cutting, haiku bombing, coffee chugging
The first things people usually notice about me
I don't know about the rest of you, but I suffer from a lack of acquaintances who want to tell me what they first noticed about me. If I had a burly face scar or owned a tiger this question would be so much easier to answer. How about this: first time we meet let's not say anything until we've noticed something, and then say what that something is. This could be fun or result in one of us effectively peeing in the other's Cheerios pretty quickly.

The six things I could never do without
Puns (very guilty)
Wild ideas that just might work...
New music
Running shoes
Good friends
Coffee. (I actually had "integrity" listed. Ironically that was the first to go when I realized I had left out coffee.)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
At what age it's appropriate to buy a white linen suit and wear it everywhere. Also: social capital, public education, vacation, food.
On a typical Friday night I am
Out with friends or catching a concert, likely having a few libations, or in resting for a Saturday long run. By resting I mean lining out business plans for crazy ideas, or responding to mad emails.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I have seen nearly every episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. And I liked it. What, like you don't have embarrassing little TV indiscretions?

Also, I ride my bike through traffic standing up like a ten year-old.
You should message me if
You're down with a short, casual first meet-up. Let's just get coffee, take a walk, go for a run, check out a festival in the city for an hour. I'm always up for meeting new people I have something in common with.

You live in the city. I sold my car two years ago because I was never using it, and haven't looked back. I rent or fly when I need to get out of the city, and otherwise love walking, training, biking, SEPTAing, taxi-ing everywhere.

Finally, if our 'enemy' rating is above 50%, please message me for science.
