I somehow managed to obtain a degree in Mathematics this past May and I'm moving back to New Hampshire from East Tennessee in the coming months as the job market down here is not very good for Mathematicians.
At this point in my life I have a good idea of who I am and what I am about. I'm not looking for someone who wants to change me or who wants me to change them. I am passionate about the things that I love and I enjoy listening to people talk about things that they are passionate about.
I'm not really into anything that most 'normal' guys are into, I don't like sports(playing or watching), I don't fish, hunt, or go mudding and I would never own a truck that was big enough to tow a boat. having said that though, I do like hiking and camping and I have missed the ocean very much living in the landlocked state of Tennessee for the last 5 years.
I'm diabetic so I'm not really into sweet foods, I'm also allergic to lactose so ice cream is sadly double out for me. I will eat pretty much anything else though.
I am a serious nerd, I love board games and card games and I play a few of them on a regular basis with my equally nerdy friends. If you are also into that sort of things, awesome! if not, that's totally cool too.
Lastly, I have had a beard of some kind since I was 17 (more than half of my life at this point), and it's not going anywhere for love or money, sorry if that's a deal breaker.
I can cook, well I can follow directions... mostly, ok I have yet to make anything inedible.
I'm good at finding weird places to eat, and things to go see and do.
Sarcasm, real good at the sarcasm, see below.
Song of Fire and Ice (The Game of Thrones series)
The Dark Tower Series
Anything written by Chuck Palahniuk
Sirens of Titan, not much of a vonnegut fan otherwise.
I'll watch most movies, but I will mock them if they are bad.
I am a big fan of music, I will listen to anything that's not pop country or really weird indie stuff. I'm not huge on oldies, some of them are good, but largely I don't think pop music from the 40's and 50's has aged well, I like the Beatles before they took all the drugs, and I don't really like classical music unless it involves heavy use of pianos and/or strings.
My current musical obsession is Shearwater, if you have not heard of them check them out. 'Animal Life' and 'Dread Sovereign' are particular favorites.
If I say what I'm thinking out loud, on a scale of one to ten, how much trouble will I be in?
That thing I was supposed to be doing.
Jesus Christ they gave me a degree!
