My self-summary
I'm a realist, a romantic, and a gentleman. I am also loyal... to a fault.

I'm an extrovert; outgoing and adventurous. I love experiencing new things and meeting new people, I'm naturally inquisitive, and I'll try anything once. I like to stray from the beaten path, especially when I travel, and I love to travel. I like to really get a sense of new places and different cultures, and to hang out with the locals. For my last big trip, I spent five weeks in Vietnam where (among other things) I rented a motor-bike for two weeks in Saigon and bought a pig in Sapa. Both great stories... I also have a special love of the Caribbean, along with West Indian culture and food.

For going out, I enjoy pubs, dive bars, good restaurants, wine bars, anywhere with a good cocktail, etc. I've never been into night clubs. Basically, I like chill low key places where I can engage in good conversation with interesting people, and preferably over good beer, or wine, or scotch, or a cocktail. My favorite part of an evening is often toward the end of the night, when just good friends are left, and you sit around drinking and talking for hours. That's when all the most interesting and honest conversations seem to happen.

I live in Shaw, and have since for so long before that was "cool" that I still can't believe how much the neighborhood has changed! I've lived in DC for a while now, longer than I ever thought I would live in one place, and while I have always wanted to live somewhere else (especially abroad) it is hard to imagine leaving anymore... at least not permanently. I like how well I know the city (my midnight monuments tour is famous) and I love the way it changes and evolves, and the fact that there is always more to discover! Perhaps most importantly though, I have a great group of friends in the city... my friends are a very important part of my life!

I love good food and craft beer, staying active, running, skiing, camp fires, quiet deserted beaches in the Caribbean, reading, and curling up (preferably with someone special) with a book or in front of a good movie, or just cuddling in general. If you don't like to cuddle, that honestly might be one of my only firm deal breakers ;)
What I’m doing with my life
Professionally, I own and operate a small business.

Otherwise, either relaxing, or looking for my next adventure!
I’m really good at
Anything I put my heart into!
The first things people usually notice about me
That I'm very outgoing, often opinionated, and always a gentleman!
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Favorite books, that covers a broad spectrum! I enjoy classic literature. I am a big fan of everything from Shakespeare and the Russians (especially Dostoyevsky) to Jim Carroll and The Basketball Diaries, and everything in between... basically, I love to read anything good!

I'm also a big movie fan. I enjoy movies from pretty much all genres and yes, that includes romantic comedies. I am not a big fan of horror movies, but I enjoy some. Generally, I find it hard to get specific with favorites, but I do have trouble understanding how anyone could possibly not love The West Wing! Ultimately, I love great television and great movies, and I enjoy few things more than curling up with someone special to watch something good :)

I like most music, except country. I date my life by music, and memories are often tied to what I was listening to at any given time.

I am a foodie! I love going out to eat good food, anything from street vendors to gourmet dining, and I really enjoy trying new and different things (especially real local cuisine when I travel). I'm a very "situational" drinker, so my interests vary. I like wine, and wish I knew more about it. I love great cocktails, craft beer, and scotch!

Most importantly to me is the who... I love to enjoy good food, wine, beer, cocktails, music, movies, and good times in general with my friends and loved ones!
Six things I could never do without
Nothing - to be unable to live without anything is too absolute and too limiting...

Is that a cop out?

I would certainly miss my friends!

I would have a hard time adjusting to any life without companionship - not sure that I could live without love and intimacy...

I would also certainly miss good food and and good booz!

Lastly, I guess I would admittedly prefer not to have to adjust to life without my iPhone, sad but true
I spend a lot of time thinking about
What's next. The life I want to live. Doing what I love. My friends. My future.
On a typical Friday night I am
Typical?! No such thing...
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Anything - I'm an open book... just ask ;)
You should message me if
You want to...
