My self-summary
I'm industrious, creative and outgoing. I'm great at finding the perfect moments to make people laugh. I like to stay physically active and keep busy pursuing a project or spending my time developing a skill. I thoroughly enjoy a good adventure and love the exhilarating feeling of trying something for the first time. I have a positive outlook on life and always try to see the best in every situation. I love working with my hands and having something to show for it in everything from gardening to carpentry. I seldom pass up an opportunity to check out anything in the arts. My family and friends are very important to me and I think they would describe me as kind, thoughtful and imaginative.

I'm excited to meet someone that has a strong passion for life, loves what they do and knows who they are. I'm at my best when they make me laugh and feel like a best friend. Someone that thrives on getting the most out of life and encourages me to do the same is very attractive. I want to spend my time with a person who knows how to enjoy the small things in life but has the determination to pursue their goals.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm working in an amazing career designing and building interactive museum exhibits. Arriving in this position has made me feel so fortunate because I have the opportunity to be creative and work with my hands on a regular basis. Like any profession it comes with a fair share of pressure and stress but I find that I thrive under it rather than crumble. I allow my ambition to run wild, welcome the challenges and feel rewarded when I can help lead a team towards the completion of a project.

I've developed an increasing fascination for exploring more of the world and have made traveling one of my priorities in the coming years. I'll soon be taking my very first trip abroad to do a couple weeks of volunteer construction work in Africa. I made a conscious decision to dive in deep on my initial venture and was primarily motivated by the desire of using my time to do some good for others in need.
I’m really good at
Making people laugh, listening, getting covered in sawdust, playing ping-pong, hitting the snooze button and cooking without a recipe.
The first things people usually notice about me
A lot of people comment on my deep voice. Perhaps my slightly disheveled haircut or my delightful sense of humor?
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I really love to read and music is a huge part of my life. I'm always excited to get new recommendations in all the above categories.

Some favorite authors: Kurt Vonnegut, Tom Robbins, Don DeLillo, Nick Hornby, Chuck Palahnuik, Gabriel Garcia Marquez, I like a lot of the classics as well.

Some current favorite music: Interpol, Neko Case, Icky Blossoms, Mumford & Sons, Arcade Fire, Florence + the Machine.

Shows: I don't watch an awful lot of TV; Arrested Development is a favorite short-lived series, I watch old re-runs of Seinfeld, Nightly News, yay for staying informed!

Food: There aren't too many things I flat out don't care for, though I usually eat vegetarian. Can't seem to get enough Indian food.
The six things I could never do without
My family and friends - I feel very fortunate in this department.

Coffee - I'm sure I would technically survive without it but life just wouldn't be as good.

My guitar - everybody needs a creative outlet (or two.) It's usually within an arm's reach just in case inspiration strikes.

A notepad - I feel like I'm constantly writing something down at work, jotting down ideas, sketching or making lists. I'm a visual person. I guess it's a good thing I recycle paper.

Laughter - anyone who can make me laugh gets high marks in my book. Few things feel better than a good laugh.

Earplugs - sounds weird right? I often work in loud conditions with power tools and also attend a fair number of live shows. Definitely need to protect the hearing.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Taking a trip out of the country, where I last put my tape measure, why there are only 24 hours in a day.
On a typical Friday night I am
Enjoying life! Out with friends, riding my bike, listening to some live music, checking out an art opening, having a drink on the deck when the weather is nice, at home reading a great book. It really could be anything.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I don't know how to whistle.
You should message me if
If something in my profile sparked your interest,
you're a spirited and outgoing individual,
we have something in common but would also really enjoy exploring each other's interests together,
you'd like to take a chance on a great guy,
you'd like to get to know each other a bit in person to see if there is some chemistry, hopefully while getting out to do something a little out of the box.
If any of that sounds appealing I look forward to hearing from you!
