My family and my friends mean everything to me. They've been there for me no matter what, and I do my best to do the same.
I like to write. Since I was a small child, I've been writing stories. I used to draw comics as well, but in the end, I knew my real passion was in the story, rather than the art. Not that it isn't important, I just wasn't very good at drawing.
My ambition is to be a filmmaker. Like I said, I love to write stories, and what is a movie, but a 90-180 minute story? I have so many stories, whether from high school, or now, or even stuff I've made up, and I'd love to see them be played out on a screen and shared with the world. I've just finished my first screenplay, and am excited to shoot a movie soon.
This is who I am. You can either take it or leave it, it really doesn't matter to me, because I don't change for anyone but myself. I used to. I was young, I was dumb. I was foolish enough to believe that I needed to change to stay in a relationship, but not anymore.
I am funny, creative, and sweet. Or at least I like to think that I'm funny. Everyone's sense of humor is different.
I decided a while back that I wasn't interested in wasting my life or my time. It may not be precious to anyone else, but I only get to live once, so I'd like to spend my time either trying to be responsible or having fun. I don't want to be bored.
I wrote a book once. I was really proud of it, until I realized it was terrible. Seriously, it's literally 100 pages of dialogue with plot points randomly inserted here and there. Now I'm more proud of the idea that I wrote a novel than the novel itself. I adapted it into a screenplay and liked it a lot better. These days, I've been trying to raise up enough money to actually make it. It's slow going, but it's moving along. If you want to help, that would be awesome and you should let me know!
Otherwise? Not too much. Hanging out with friends, having fun. Sure, my life has its low points, but doesn't everybody have those moments? For the most part, I enjoy it.
I used to write touching, sad short stories, then worked a little bit with detached and emotionless characters.
I guess it was kind of a dark period.
Now I dabble with comedy, though it tends to turn into dramas after a while. I try to get a feel for different genres though. I'm outlining an action movie these days.
When I have the time, I try to further my goal of becoming a filmmaker by writing screenplays. I've finished one, and always seem to have several more floating around in my head.
I also have a decent collection of comic books and graphic novels. Scott Pilgrim, Sin City, Y: The Last Man. Jeff Lemire's Sweet Tooth and Garth Ennis's The Boys are two of my favorites. And if course a slew of Batman, Iron Man and others.
As for movies, that list can go on for days. As I've stated earlier, I aspire to be a filmmaker, so I watch a lot of movies. My all time favorite will always be Clerks, because it inspired me to be a filmmaker. It was a real, "If that's a movie, I could make one too," kind of moment. I try to watch the movies that you'd expect to be at the Oscars, like Milk or Slumdog Millionaire, but I also like to have a good time going to the theater, seeing stuff like Spider-Man or The Avengers. I'm not wholly pretentious, I'll watch a cheesy action movie like The Expendables. The best movie I've seen this year (besides the obvious The Dark Knight Rises) is Moonrise Kingdom. A few of my favorite movies off the top of my head would be The Royal Tenenbaums, Brick, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, and Empire Records.
I love music, unless it's country or rap. You would think, coming from Texas, country is all I listen to, but I absolutely hate it, it's all so stereotypical. Cowboys, soldiers, drinking, horses, I'd like to hear a country song that has nothing to do with any of those. And rap has never been music to me, it's only been noise. Occasionally though, I'll find a song that I find a little catchy, but it's rare.
I've been on an electronic kick ever since I watched Drive. I've purchased quite a bit of Kavinsky, College, and Chromatics lately. Other favorites would be Green Day, Jack's Mannequin, and Andrew W.K. I also enjoy 80s music from all genres, mostly pop and New Wave, and I've found I really enjoy 50s rock and roll. Other stations in my Pandora are devoted to opera, contemporary jazz, and classical, for when the mood strikes. I like to have a variety.
And finally food. Well, I can't lie and say I eat healthy. I try to avoid vegetables if I can. I mean, I'll eat them, they are good for me, but if given the choice? A big fat meh. I love junk food. I can't get enough of it. I used to have two hot pockets and a vanilla Coke for lunch every day, but I haven't been on that diet in years. I signed up for a gym membership though. I plan to be thin again eventually.
I am also a huge fan of Leona Lewis. I have both her albums.
I like talking about my dreams. I'm not really the type to ask what they mean, they just make me laugh.
Message me if you think we'll connect, even just as friends. I can always use new friends. Message me if you're chatty like I am, and you'll talk about yourself freely, openly, and often, because that's what I do. I like to talk, and the topic I know the most about is myself, so I get lost telling old stories often.
Message me if you like to read. Tell me what you read, why you read it. Message me if you're a fan of comics, or at least open to reading a few. I've got some really good ones you might enjoy.
Message me if you're a writer. I love talking to writers. I like finding out what they write about, what inspires them. Who knows, one day we might collaborate on a project.
Message me if you like video games, or at least don't hate them and won't get mad at me for playing them, because I do, and most likely always will.
Message me if you can act, or you're looking to get into some area of the film business. I'm still raising funds, but it will be good to know people who are ready to help when the time comes.
It should be noted that these are not requirements for you to message me. I'd say the first is the only one you would want to actually follow, otherwise, you'd be wasting your time. I'll make it easier on you. Did you read all of this? Did you find it interesting? Do you think I'm kind of an asshole, but in a charming way (because that's what I was totally going for)? Tell me. Click the button, send me a message, we'll chat.
