My self-summary
Adventure is out there! I have a grape soda cap with your name on it. There are so many incredible things in this world to see and be a part of. Let's go. ;)

I would describe myself as a work in progress. I am kind, playful, patient, positive and very curious.I have been described as driven, animated, analytical, and empathetic

I love to learn, languages, games, skills, instruments you name it.
Being completely honest, I burn the candle at both ends sometimes. I'll learn... maybe
What I’m doing with my life
Lately, I've been trying to build good habits and learn new things. I'm trying to get myself to run, relearning how to play pool, got into archery, getting outdoors more and learning more about astronomy. Very occasionally I climb rocks with friends. "The days are just packed!" C&H :)

I have lots of hobbies and interests, but my focus for the past couple years has been on a masters in elementary education and my first year as a teacher. On good days I have the best job in the world.

I caught the bug by volunteering at nasa ames teaching basic science to groups of kids on field trips. They are so curious and enthusiastic about everything. I love it and I want to encourage those traits. Eventually, I hope to go back, but who knows what the future holds.
I’m really good at
Picking up new hobbies. Uke, for example, is the most recent. - So many interests, so little time.

Ceramics: I've been a potter for almost 10 years now. I love the creativity and the problem-solving involved.

Seeing the silver linings and playing devil's advocate. I'm good at perspective taking which helps to empathize with others and see where they're coming from.

Board Games: I love to play, but I'm not really competitive.

Swing Dancing, but it's been awhile since I've dated anyone who does. Extra points if you do.
The first things people usually notice about me
I'm always smiling :D
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
So hard to choose and inevitably I'll think of something else later
Podcasts: , Stuff You Should Know,
Books: I have far too many books. The Martian, Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Ender's Game, The Mother Tongue:English and how it got that way.
Audiobooks: this has been the way to go lately and I'm in the middle of We are Legion, We are Bob.
Movies: Stranger than fiction, Waking Ned Divine, Master and Commander, Shower, Hot Fuzz, Chocolate, October Sky, (Mostly Comedies and science and nature documentaries) I love to curl up on the couch, so Netflix is both my friend and my enemy. :)
Shows: Doctor Who, TNG, Alfred Hitchcock Presents
Bands: Iron and Wine, Cake, Bare Naked Ladies, Bobby McFarrin. Happy with a wide variety. Spotify is my go to lately and sadly I'm not good with band names anyway.

Food: Yes. I love being in this area. So many possibilities and I love trying new things.
Six things I could never do without
Friends and Family- They've been there for me and I will always be there for them.

A Studio- Transplant me anywhere and the first thing I do is find a ceramics studio.

Travel- Exploring other countries. Impromptu road trips! The ocean! For those of you who grew up with it, please don't ever take it for granted. It's amazing.

Podcasts and tedtalks- They are so inspiring and makes me want to know more about our world. I hope one day to give a talk... just not sure what about.

Calendar/notebook - it's my brain.

Six? Who came up with that?
I spend a lot of time thinking about
My students and how I can improve the lesson. How do people learn?

Where I might end up living. I want to explore another country for a year or two, not just a tour. It's a big world out there. Why do we have to stay in the same country our whole lives?

The best way to stay organized. Haven't found it yet, but I'll keep trying.

If and when I'll get back into certain activities that I was passionate about: I got an open water certification and have yet to go diving in CA. Dance (lindy) was a big part of my life and I haven't gone in years. I used to play music, but I have to choose how I spent my time. Plus, there's always something new to discover which means setting a hobby aside for a while.
On a typical Friday night I am
Same thing we do every night Pinky... ;)

But truly, it depends. Some Fridays I go out to dinner with friends nights and others are curl up on the couch and watch a movie nights.

I'm really more of a Saturday morning girl :)
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Well then it wouldnt be private, but if you ask me something I'll be up front with you.
You should message me if
If you know a dumb joke or tongue twister
If you like getting outdoors, you like exploring, backpacking, fly kites, shoot a round of pool, maybe even go ice skating...
If you think there might be a connection.

If you like cooking dinner together and playing boardgames
And of course if you'd just like to grab some food or a cup of coffee and have a great conversation (extra points if it's in another language ). :)

If you are direct and honest.
If alcohol is not a requirement for a good time.
The two of us
