My self-summary
Hi, I'm here to check things out...I'm a long-time single chick who loves live music (Beatles and classic rock, etc.), dancing, outdoor festivals, and I'm also known to run around with a playing ukulele (and guitar) too. I've raised four kids and I have a really cute little grandson and it's time to find someone cool to hang out with...!
What I’m doing with my life
Where do I begin?! Let's see, I do have a full-time job at this law firm where I do the document and computer support thing...done this line of work for many years...always been totally self-sufficient. I also write creative nonfiction and fiction and just got my MA in Writing in 2010, so excited about that. I also run around with a ukulele and attend singalongs and jams at various places...LOVE that so much and I dance and have fun as often as humanly possible!
I’m really good at
enjoying life and having fun! Seriously! That's what it's all about, right? I work hard ...also I'm pretty good at playing ukulele at any given time. and when given a chance I'll dance the night away to good classic rock music!
The first things people usually notice about me
Hmm...that I'm friendly and outgoing and get along with pretty much everyone in any given situation...and I tend to wear colorful clothes and LOVE tie-dye...yeah, still have that 60s persona going on...I was a child of the '60's in San Francisco where I grew up.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I'm an AVID Beatles fan -- lifelong since 1964 when I was 7 years old...! I also love music from the 60's and 70's, such as Bob Dylan, Beach Boys, the Who, Stones, Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, just to name a few...and the folk music as equals life. I also LUV movies, even musicals! I loved Across the Universe and even found Rock of Ages entertaining in its own way! love dramas, comedies, pretty much anything (Little Miss Sunshine comes to mind)...I don't get to the movie theaters often enough! my one weird fix is that I did watch American Idol -- but that's the ONLY one of those types of shows I've ever followed, staying apprised of music..ya know? I love to read...memoirs have been my thing lately (Blackbird and Still Waters by Jennifer Lauck, Hold Me Close Let Me Go by Adair Lara, Wonderful Tonight by Patti Boyd)...Crazy for the Storm...I also love to read good fiction...pretty much ANYTHING good...very eccletic re pretty much any food...especially Asian and Italian.
Six things I could never do without
my family (my grown kids, etc., and my beautiful little grandson) ; close friends who are like family to me, being surrounded by FABULOUS music, a ukulele (have uke will travel?); something to write with.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
music and writing-related how everything that happens in our lives is an "adventure," whether it's a big event or a small one, or good or bad... and I do think about how cool it would be to have someone to share my life with...yet how I'd rather be single for the rest of my life than be in a BAD relationship...My good friends Michael and Mojo have an awesome marriage...I just hung out with them last night -- they're the same age as me...and they have kids and grandkids...I want what they have, and NO LESS!!! gotta keep it real and hang with cool, like-minded people, right?
On a typical Friday night I am
starting off with a walk down at the Baylands...OR going to an acoustic jam with my ukulele in hand--or perhaps listening to some cool life classic rock music with friends...OR checking out a movie or whatever happens to be going on!
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
oh gosh, what do I say here? I'm not a very private person. My life is pretty much an open book for the most part... I do have a secret desire to actually be in a good relationship (for once)..maybe even remarry again if it feels right... lots of people who know me don't see that becuase I'm fun loving and don't always come on as a "serious" person.
You should message me if
you are looking for someone to do things with and have fun with...and start off as friends -- see where it goes from there...if you love music and dancing, walks (nature is cool!), spontaneous adventures to the beach, etc. we are fortunate to live in the SF Bay Area! (you don't have to play the ukulele, hehe!)...if you are non-judgmental and able to accept people as they are...if you're self-sufficient and able to support yourself...if you love the Beatles and the 60's music, that is a plus of course... message me if you're an all around cool person!
