My self-summary
I write. I profess. And apparently I need to take more photos of myself. But I'm just not that into me.

Omnivorous because one thing I write about is food, but I manage to eat clean a lot of the time.

Into experience over acquisition. Travel over stuff.

Get out for workouts (a trail run with push-ups and pull ups thrown in).

Spiritual not religious. Golden Rule, trying to be helpful to some and harmful to none.
What I’m doing with my life
Filling out okc's exhaustive questionnaire exhaustively.
I’m really good at
Bullshitting (as in talking or "shooting the shit," not as in prevarication), reading, writing, thinking, running, daydreaming, eating, critiquing, professing and any other -ing I've put a lot of time and effort into and continue to pursue...
The first things people usually notice about me
My laugh...seen Amadeus? My eyes. My humor (hyperbolicious). My intelligence. My energy.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
A sampling of favorites--

Books: The Golden Notebook, Trainspotting, The Brothers K, The Stand, The Left Hand of Darkness, The Little Prince

Movies: Apocalypse Now, Donnie Darko, Amélie, Amores Perros, Bridesmaids, The Iron Giant

Bands: Queens of the Stone Age, Led Zeppelin, The Breeders, The Cold War Kids, Jane's Addiction, Velvet Underground, Black Sabbath (with Ozzy), Joan Jett

Food: Yep. Like I said, I even write about it on occasion.

“Ideally, what should be said to every child, repeatedly, throughout his or her school life is something like this: 'You are in the process of being indoctrinated. We have not yet evolved a system of education that is not a system of indoctrination. We are sorry, but it is the best we can do. What you are being taught here is an amalgam of current prejudice and the choices of this particular culture. The slightest look at history will show how impermanent these must be. You are being taught by people who have been able to accommodate themselves to a regime of thought laid down by their predecessors. It is a self-perpetuating system. Those of you who are more robust and individual than others will be encouraged to leave and find ways of educating yourself--educating your own judgments. Those that stay must remember, always, and all the time, that they are being moulded and patterned to fit into the narrow and particular needs of this particular society.” --Doris Lessing, The Golden Notebook

“No creature can learn that which his heart has no shape to hold.” --Cormac McCarthy, All the Pretty Horses
Six things I could never do without
In no particular order: boots, movie theaters, diners, trousers, The Dude (he's my cat)...let's figure out the last one together.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Intellectually curious so just about anything.
On a typical Friday night I am
Donning boots and trousers, saying goodbye to The Dude, hopping on my motorcycle to check out a movie and heading to a diner after to talk about it.

Or something else. Or nothing.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Nothing over the Internet, but we can play some Truth or Dare in person for nostalgia and just because it's wicked fun.
You should message me if
For the same reason I'd send you one: you read my profile and found something you liked, and looked at my snaps and thought I was cute.

May the road rise up to meet you!
