My self-summary
This is where we meet. Welcome to the internet, I will be your date for the night. Please have a seat.

Where to begin? *clears throat nervously*

My name is Michael and you're looking lovely this evening. I hear that flattery will get me everywhere so there's more where that came from.

No way!? You like watching TV shows? Do you like BoJack Horseman? How about Orange is the New Black? Let me guess, Game of Thrones? I wonder if the author will ever finish the books they are based on before he croaks due to his old age and ever expanding waist band. The race against mortality is always a fascinating one.

Wow, that didn't take long at all for me to get onto a morbid topic. I can't help it, my mind does wander into areas that are driven by my endless fascination with the undiscussed. Polite society might consider some of the topics I invoke to be taboo or improper. What did polite society ever give us anyway? Nothing but the victim generation that loves creating fake outrage on their Twitters and what have you.

Oh, you're still here. That's cool. How drunk are you right now? Not drunk enough for that? I see. More wine? It goes well with the cheese platter I've provided. I'm a bit of a foodie you see, so I know what tastes good.

This is going well. Perhaps you should send me a message sometime. I can't be all bad if I like puppies, right?
What I’m doing with my life
I write, think it is good, then curse it for being shit. Repeat that process over and over again and there you go.
I’m really good at
Producing random facts.
Reading people.
The first things people usually notice about me
That I have really soft hands (handshakes)
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: Love anything by Stephen King, George R.R Martin, Neil Gaiman or Orson Scott Card. I'm particularly into dark sci fi/fantasy that doesn't follow a conventional path. Recent things that I have read and thought were good are 'The Name of the Wind' by Patrick Rothfuss, 'Ready Player One' by Ernest Cline and 'The Dice Man' by Luke Rhinehart.

Movies: Almost Famous, Moonrise Kingdom, Fight Club, American History X, A Bronx Tale, Pulp Fiction, Kill Bill, 28 Days Later, The Lost Boys, The Dark Knight. Lots of cheesy 80's stuff.

Music: Amanda Palmer, White Stripes, Muse, Bitter Ruin, Jason Webley, Nick Cave, Black Keys.

Shows: True Detective, Breaking Bad, Doctor Who, Californication, Carnivale, The Wire, Rome, Game of Thrones, Deadwood, Dexter, Hung, Archer, Ugly Americans, Rick and Morty, Orange is the New Black and pretty much anything that I can find in an hour of boredom on Netflix.

Food: I like to try everything at least once. Pizza is my favourite though.
The six things I could never do without
Pens: I always have two on me. I have a bit of an OCD thing that I developed in childhood. I found toys to be too rigid, so I played with pens. I would hold out a pen in front of me and visualise it as someone's arm. If I could visualise their arm then I could visualise what the rest of their body looked like. With a second pen I could repeat the process and imagine a second person. With two people now fully formed in my head I could picture the backdrop they stood in and the world that surrounded them. It is a habit I have carried into adulthood and use as a creative trigger when writing.

Social time: If I spend too much time in the house without doing something with people I start to go crazy. I'm already crazy enough as it is.

Intelligent conversation: It's always stimulating when I find someone who is intelligent to converse with or at the very least has something different to say.

Reddit: In my spare time I like looking up random facts about stuff. This website is a big help in that department.

A bucket list: I have a list of things that I wish to achieve in life that I am gradually crossing off.

Enemies: Nothing motivates you like a good adversary.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
The ever growing stupidity of the human race. When the dumb people out fuck the smart people, this is what we are left with.
On a typical Friday night I am
Pub most likely.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
It's not private if you admit it, is it?
You should message me if
You want someone to do things with and have interesting conversation. We'll just hang out and see where it goes.
