My self-summary
- I am an introvert. I like hanging out with you, and I like talking to you - I just need to take a break from it occasionally.

- I can be shy and nervous with new people. That means I probably won't message you. Ideal first meeting - karaoke, board games, bouldering, or something else outdoors.

- I prefer two wheels or two feet to anything else.

- I'm *available*, as in "in an open relationship with somebody who will know about you." You get to know about them too. It's neat that way.

- I'm not super excited about writing this. When I'm excited about something, my tone and energy level change DRASTICALLY and I will leave you in the dust. YOU'VE BEEN WARNED.

...Also, this. Yep.
What I’m doing with my life
EXPLORING. "Throw away your maps." Travel from city to city. Get to know each one - the back alleys, the dive bars, the riverfront trails, the abandoned railroads, the libraries, the churches, the history, the best view, the best food, the best music. Find out what's over the next hill - it's so close. Just one more hill before we turn around and go back home. Just past this bend in the road. Walk every mile you can on this earth before you die.

In short, not much - but I'm very much enjoying it!
I’m really good at
Finding my way, literally and metaphorically.

Singing super-loudly at karaoke. This is an accomplishment for me - I have learned how to be loud ever-so-slowly. Not to mention the actually getting up on stage thing.

I'm a multi-instrumentalist, although I don't practice enough to consider myself terribly good with any of them. Shame on me.

Staying up too late - my one true talent. As seen here!

Getting a song I don't like out of my head by replacing it with a better one. I am basically always humming something.

Making you wonder if I'm joking. I have the world's best deadpan. TRY ME.
The first things people usually notice about me
-shirt with a band or webcomic on it
-gangly and awkward
-socially uncomfortable
-OR, drunk and boisterous/trying to make you play Space Alert or other incredibly involved board games.

Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Music! Let's see! Anything from Dave Grohl or Josh Homme. I ADORE Queens of the Stone Age and Eagles of Death Metal, and I certainly can't knock the Foo Fighters! Electric Six is and will always be my favorite band - incredibly fun, ridiculous, danceable, et cetera. I love Streetlight Manifesto (and BOTAR!) for so many things - incredible composition, musicianship, lyrics, you name it. I listen to a lot of metal, classic rock, classical, occasionally bluegrass - I'm open to anything, really, but it doesn't hurt if it fucking rocks.

Books - anything by Vonnegut, always! Lots of fantasy; I love Tolkien, Brent Weeks, Megan Whalen Turner, Donaldson, Stephen King's Dark Tower series (and lots of his other novels!). I can't say enough about how much better my life has been because of all the time I've spent reading. I will occasionally go to the library and accidentally check out so many books that I have to buy a bag for them at the checkout.

Movies - I Heart Huckabees, Crime and Punishment in Suburbia, Hot Fuzz, old kung fu movies, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, terrible scifi monster movies - let me know if there's any consistent theme here, because I certainly can't find one.

Food - I will eat damn near anything once or twice. I love sushi (anything with fish, really!), Chinese, Indian, and plain old hamburgers. I am slowly but surely learning to cook things beyond "put it in boiling water"!

And television. ADVENTURE TIME - my new favorite! Doctor Who is wonderful, of course! FUCKING FIREFLY. Other than that, basically Top Gear and a bunch of cartoons. Venture Brothers, Home Movies, MLP:FiM. I don't watch a ton of television unless you turn it on in front of me.
Six things I could never do without
-The ability to ignore the maps other people have made and find my own way.
-An Electric Six show at least once a year.
-Caffeine - I kind of tried to quit a couple months ago and it lasted about two weeks. Sigh. At least I cut back?
-Occasionally just listening to someone I know ramble about their problems. I love it.
-Corrected vision. I'd probably accidentally kill myself within a week.
-Cop-out final answer: My MP3 player. It's lost the ability to go up a level, so it's stuck on "shuffle all" forever. EXCITING TIMES, FOLKS.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Nothing in particular! Usually running through wildly implausible scenarios involving people I know in my head. This is probably 50% of my brain activity. There's a lot of wasted space up there.

Also, what's that thing on the horizon? Can I go there? How about right now?
On a typical Friday night I am
-Out at a karaoke bar
-Walking to somewhere peaceful and remote
-Relaxing with friends
-Gaming - D&D or Xbox normally
-Make an offer!
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I'm a huge sadist!
You should message me if
I'm a bit withdrawn until I get comfortable with somebody - chances are I won't message you. If you're not sure, just do it! I probably want to meet you!
