My self-summary
Hey - I'm Mike.

I'm working on thinking of an amusing anecdote to describe myself, but until then here are some things I like:

I love exploring and meeting genuinely interesting people, and I'll try anything once. Some of my best experiences have been traveling abroad, and I want to get everywhere eventually. So far this year, I've parlayed a couple work trips to London into vacation in Prague, Budapest, Cambridge, and Dublin. I did Bermuda a few weekends ago, going to Southeast Asia in November, then London again in December (and maybe Turkey?).

I'm an eclectic; I enjoy everything from painting to coding. I also like wandering the city (I've done 20+ miles in a day), and reading whatever piques my curiosity. I love debating. I also love endorphins: that used to be running (no music) but more recently racing my bike.

New England -> Pittsburgh -> Chicago -> NYC
What I’m doing with my life
I research investment around the world based on "global macro" drivers, ranging from economics and monetary policy to applied math (my uni major). It helps that I have an incurable curiosity and find all this stuff interesting. But my childhood dream was running a startup, so who knows what I'll be when I grow up.

I'm also involved in a couple programs mentoring NYC public high school students. It's a super fulfilling experience, and one I recommend to literally all of my friends and shamelessly boast about on online dating profiles.

I recycle, too.
I’m really good at
* The limbo, getting ridiculously low. This also translates into some cool dance moves.
* I think I make the best guacamole ever but my last guac-off ended in a tie, so we can't be too sure about that. But I do cook the most perfect scrambled eggs.
* Almost forgetting pants. Fortunately, it's hard to walk outside without shoes and hard to put on shoes without realizing you're not wearing any.

I spend a lot of time thinking about
Life, math problems, social psychology, globalization, particle physics, ed reform, where I want to travel next, and how big my carbon footprint must be getting from all that flying around... plus silly epistemological questions like, what is time really and why does it exist?

What can I say, I'm a nerd.
On a typical Friday night I am
A few laps in Central Park if I've got time, then generally eating, drinking, being merry.
You should message me if
You are confident, smart, ambitious, ambitious, and opinionated.
And if you'd just like to grab a drink.
