Going to plays, going to movies, going to the beach, going upstate. Traveling just about anywhere.
Singing and listening to showtunes, sitting in parks, exploring Queens, exploring Manhattan, bemoaning the need to schlep to Brooklyn but doing it anyway and exploring Brooklyn.
Eating food, drinking beer, drinking whisk(e)y, drinking LaCroix.
Reading the New Yorker, talking about recent New Yorker articles, watching television, lurking and responding to New Yorker writers on Twitter and hoping they write back.
Hanging with my cat, hanging with other peoples' dogs, spending time with a good group of friends.
Facebooking but not vaguebooking.
Meeting new people.
In the nine years between stints in NYC I lived in DC, which also happens to be where I grew up. I will not tolerate DC-bashing, which a lot of New Yorkers seem to enjoy, but I'm also really glad to be back. They both have their charms!
I live in Sunnyside, work in Chelsea as an editor at a website, and am generally pretty happy with where I'm at.
Knowing random shit without knowing how I know it. I have, in fact, been on two television quiz shows.
I have an excellent sense of direction and am really good at parallel parking.
Also: I'm much funnier in person. For realz!
Titles: Going Clear, The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks, The Spirit Catches You and You Fall Down, anything by Sedaris, A Visit from the Goon Squad, Praying for Sheetrock, C Street, Nothing to Envy.

Music. Not gonna lie: I'm pretty into showtunes. But only the good ones, not the crappy ones. Meet me at the Duplex or Marie's?
Food: I will eat (and enjoy) pretty much anything you put in front of me, with the exception of most shellfish. I have tried to like clams and oysters and such, and I just can't do it.
TV: I watch a lot of TV. Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, Broad City, Mad Men, Judge Judy, Six Feet Under, Girls, The Keepers, Transparent, I Love Dick, Frontline, HBO and PBS Documentaries, The Amazing Race, John Oliver, Samantha Bee.
