I am curious, and flighty, and cuddly and present. I'd probably like to talk to you. Would way prefer to do it in person.
I got into science through science writing, a stint in undergrad interning in the science section of a magazine made me realize if I could read science I must be able to do science. I've since been applying this mindset more generally.
I'm studying how the brain builds itself. As this is quite a puzzle, i am instead cutting my teeth by figuring out how cuttlefish camouflage and how seashells are made. I am a Mathematical Biologist and I plan to have a PhD by the end of the year.
I am an explorer at the knowledge frontier and prefer uncharted adventures. Also, I am kinda exhausted.
I get "You are a really good hugger!" a lot; not certain what that means, but then again I've never been in a hug without me in it.
Food: I like to cook. It is good. I disproportionately like: brussel sprouts, asparagus, and miso soup. My favorite meals in the bay have been at Comis, Lo Coco, Finfine, and the Red Door Cafe.
Film: Little Miss Sunshine and David Byrne's True Stories.
Books: I read a fair amount, I just stated Svetlana Alexievich's second hand time and just finished a book called "Constructing Self, Constructing America." I think my favorite book may still be Watership Down.
Banjos, myth, and math.
How warm the sun feels.
I am open to longer term commitments but am not rushing into them. I would say -- more than anything else -- I am looking for cute friends to cuddle with; with an option for more physical intimacy and intellectual connection. I am wary of putting any energy into someone who does not want a somatic (not necessarily sexual) connection with me near off the bat.
I am currently planning on moving to Paris or Chicago in a year/ year and a half, but we will see what happens with that.
I have 60 housemates.
You can ask and answer good questions (ideally while cuddling).
You could imagine going weeks without a shower if an adventure called for it.
You like eating and drinking nice things.
