My self-summary
I'm a nerd *and* a geek - so there! I always have a witty remark for the situation, be it a quote or song lyric, but I've gotten better at keeping them to myself. I am very allergic to cats. I try to be polite and laid back. I follow rules closely and it bothers me when others don't. I have an incredibly wide variety of interests, but only a few passions - among which are LEGO, Star Wars, and costuming. I am a vast repository of "useless" knowledge due to my propensity to read a lot and remember most of it. My affection is very physical - If I like you, expect lots of hand-holding, hugs, etc.
What I’m doing with my life
I make cabinets and fixtures for chain restaurants at the moment, but am searching for a job that uses my CNC knowledge or Biomedical Engineering degree. My costuming hobby is sort of paying for itself and helping me meet new friends.
I’m really good at
Making and repairing things. I have several suits of costume armor and more in the works all the time. I've been making repairs around the house recently, like making a fixture to hold my A/C filter in place.
I take excellent care of my pets, I have a pond in the backyard with my 18-year old map turtle and a bunch of fish, a ball python in my room, and a 10-gallon fish tank in my living room.
I'm a pretty good teacher. Sensei relies on me to teach karate classes when he's out of town, and I help friends with costumes regularly.
I'm pretty good at cooking but I'm better at baking.
The first things people usually notice about me
I have a great speaking/reading voice. I've also been told that I have a great smile.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Terry Pratchett, Terry Brooks, Douglas Adams, Brian Jacques, Larry Niven, Janet & Issac Asimov, Robert Heinlein, etc.

Spaceballs, The Empire Strikes Back, A Knight's Tale, A Walk in the Clouds, Princess Bride.

Current shows: Doctor Who, Star Wars: Rebels, Moonbeam City
All time: Firefly, John Doe, Legend of Korra, Babylon 5, MythBusters, Good Eats

Alan Parsons Project, Billy Joel, Duran Duran (and most other 80's music), Phil Collins, Nightwish, and "Weird Al" Yankovic

Nihon ryoori (Japanese food), particularly tempura and sushi (but not tempura sushi, that's weird); Indian/Persian food, really anything that's not European or American in origin. I'm lactose intolerant but don't let that scare you away! I know how to deal with it.
The six things I could never do without
My pets, but especially my turtle Gracie
Music (though I don't need an iPod because it's always running in my head)
Crafting materials.
My friends
I spend a lot of time thinking about
My next project is always on my mind. Whether I'm making a computer model from a video game or building a prop, I'm constantly working out how the next thing is going to look and work.
On a typical Friday night I am
At the dojo doing grappling, kobudo (Okinawan weapons), sport kenjutsu (smack people with foam swords! yay!), and battodo (the art of using a katana).
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Let's go with surprising rather than private. I get so distracted by what I'm doing that I frequently forget to eat.
You should message me if
