I've never been good at talking to people in situations involving less than a group of 10 or more. It doesn't bother me as much after I get to know someone, but I have a hard time getting to know people. I'm socially awkward, but I'm trying to get past this (hence the profile), but relationships are something that I haven't been able to make happen for me, really. My friends consider me to be a gentleman, though. While I'm very cautious, I'm eager to meet new people, and to turn the page in my life.
I spend a lot of time in my own head, and tend to analyze things to death, but when something is important to me, I'm steadfast. Even stubborn, sometimes, but again, I'm trying.
I easily sympathize/empathize with people even if I don't know them well. I even readied develop accents by accident when exposed to it too much over time. This also causes me too act a little loopy, unless I actively focus on not acting that way, when around people who are drunk. This is one of the reasons I don't drink, nothing against it, but I get the effect regardless it seems, and don't have to worry about hangovers.
I don't know what else to put, I feel embarrassed now, but I think most of that is important to get out of the way.
Update: I may be leaving school to pursue a job opportunity sometime in the near future but I'm not certain. Also I've recently taken up oil painting.
I've recently taken up kendo and I am getting better at it (though I still need to lose some weight before convincing myself to compete). I also have a on again off again interest in photography. I've also decided to reconnect with my old hobbies of archery, and canoeing, if I can find a range and rental place respectively.
I'm also good with puzzles, riddles, correlation, and deduction. I'm trying to get better at inductive reasoning and by extention improve my ability with abductive reasoning (a form of logical reasoning to better explain your surroundings, it is most famously used by Sherlock Holmes,) and have a developing interest in knot theory.
I am a vehement debater, and can talk about subjects I like for a long span.
I like shows that focus around doing childish things with adult levels of money like Top Gear (the British version), Myth Busters, etc.... I also am a big fan of sci-fi and fantasy shows such as Doctor Who, Star Trek, Grimm, etc... I also like anime and classic cartoons especially Warner Bros. I also like some crime dramas if they aren't just a CSI rehash, and some modern comedies like Big Bang Theory.
I like movies that have plots and well developed characters, but can occasionally sit down and watch a romantic comedy or screwball comedy, as long as it is actually funny and not just filled with one-liners and poop-jokes. My favorite directors are various and rarely all of their works. I like Tim Burton's early work. I like the original Star Wars trilogy and can forgive much of episode 3. I like Marvel's current movie-verse, and Christopher Nolan up until he created a completely new villain and called him Bane, named after the first villain to beat Batman but that is mostly where the resemblance ends. I like all I've seen from Akira Kurosawa, my favorite being High and Low(called Heaven and Hell[Tengoku to Jigoku] in Japan). I also appreciate animated films especially the work of Hayao Miyazaki, I would list which are my favorites but I've ramble long enough, suffice to say Studio Ghibli has few flaws overall.
I like a wide variety of music; Almost anything in the rock super-genre from classic to hair metal to alterna-rock to ska and even a good amount of punk (granted it is mostly folk and celtic punk but that counts in my opinion). I'm not a big fan of dub-step, pop, or country, and most of rap seems sort of repetitive. I appreciate Jazz, blues, funk, and classical if it is played well, but recordings sort of lose the emotion behind the music, so if I can I'll take it live. I'm also a fan of musicals because I grew up listening to and watching them. My favorite composer is Stephan Sondheim, esspecially Into the Woods, Sweeny Todd, and Company. My favorite actors from musicals are Hugh Jackman, Neil Patrick Harris, and Bernadette Peters. I appreciate nonmusical plays as well, but I was raise on musicals. David Tennant and Patrick Stewart are amazing in Hamlet together though.
I like a good varieties of food and am willing to try most things that are not gastropods or mushrooms. I have had some training as a chef so I cook for myself when I find the time and inclination.
Technology (Mostly gizmos and gadgets. The more impractical they are, the more interesting they are)
Bats (What? They're cool)
Martial Arts (I am an avid student of my current one, and would love to learn more.)
People (I am slow to make new friends, so the ones I have are very important, and family is important for me.)
Comedy (I need humor. I need to laugh)
I promise I'm not going to say I'm Batman... probably.
I'm looking for an open-minded, relaxed, kind woman who's trying to get the hang of this whole relationship thing, gives thought to reason, and doesn't mind talking about a lot of different things. Also someone who can put up with someone as long-winded as me wouldn't hurt.
It seems nobody wants to date a person with no experience, hence I an unable to attain any of the desired experience needed to date. Although I am inexperienced with dating, I have studied much on the subject so as to not be completely inept. If you find this acceptable please contact me as my lack of experience leads to no understanding of how to initiate contact in an appropriate way according to modern protocol, and strangely enough there is not much available data that helps in the instruction of this that doesn't just seem sleazy.
