That said, a quick summary of me. I am outgoing, passionate, extremely loyal to my friends and family, have an adventerous spirit, funny (or so I am told) with both a goofy and dry sense of humour.
I feel that life is far too short not to actively seek out new experiences. I am the kind of person who could be dropped into a room, city, experience, or country and find a way to entertain myself and others.
While I (generally) have a satisfying career, it is not entirely uncommon for me to consider other avenues (I stepped off the path of academia and teaching to come to law). This does not mean that I cannot commit; rather, I try to embarce the world as full of possibilites.
I have a passion for travel and for experiencing new communities and countries. Unfortunately, I can no longer take off for months at a time, as I would do in the past.
I am equally comfortable going camping or dressing up for the theatre.
Arrogance, small-mindedness, obsession with the material, and dishonesty do not interest me at all. Also, I am driven a little crazy by slow walkers, especailly those in a group who will never let you pass (as well as people who stand on the walk side of an escalator).
Reading what I have written above, I have to admit that it all sounds disappointingly trite. Maybe not quite as bad as "...enjoys long walks on the beach..." but... I write short stories (when I have/make the time). hmmmm....
Movies: Rear Window; Hearts of Darkness; Blade Runner; Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolfe; Cement Graden; Stranger than Fiction (an odd choice, I know, but I find it so charming); Donnie Darko; The Mission; Breathless (Jean Luc Godard); Gran Torino; O Brother, Where Art Thou; Life of Brian; Fear and Loathing in Las Vagas (there are so many more - the list will change depending upon the mood in which I find myself).
Television: Modern Family; Cougar Town; Big Bang Theory; Nova; 30 Rock; South Park
Food: Almost anything, really. I love to cook and I love to eat. I will try, at leat once, almost anything (although I do not like mushrooms, brussel sprouts - they taste like cabbage gone bad - liver - and no, it is not how it is cooked, it is just not good - tripe, haggis, and overly gelatinous things - the texture is just wrong).
Music: Roxy Music; Kate Bush; Sex Pistols; REM; Radiohead; The Strokes; Moby; Beastie Boys; Dean Martin; Johnny Cash; The Waterboys; Tangerine Dream; Ella Fitzgerald; Blue Rodeo; The Clash; Tom Waits; Cracker; Lenard Cohen(my taste is quite varied; however, silence, or even a high pitched fire alarm, is preferable to listening to fluffy pop and new country)
2. the sun (not in a most life but d. audaxviator could not live without it kind of way but in a I relish the bright sunny days of summer kind of way);
4. my cat, Kepler (although it feels wrong to catagorize him as a thing, which is why I have not included in my list friends and family);
6. gatorade (a recent addiction that I cannot adequately explain).
