My self-summary
Can we all just admit that as men physical chemistry is the most important *initial* thing?

Next, here's what I like in a man: comfortable, easy masculinity (quick to smile, a little cocky maybe, loose fitting t-shirts), confident intelligence (means curious not opinionated), fitness (wellness).

Other things I like and / or offer: love of: dogs, kids, bikes, art, yoga, movies, New York Times, New Yorker, New York, Tennessee Valley Road in Marin, beaches, gratitude, lattes, thoughtful television choices, serious books, frivolous magazines, the Internet, Sondheim, Joni Mitchell, Silversun Pickups, Gaga, Radiohead, jazz, laughter, Reich, Glass, books, bodies, unexplainable things.
What I’m doing with my life
Thinking, painting, laughing, service, listening, "keeping the darkness at bay, laughing it all away."
I’m really good at
Communicating. 3/4 of communicating is listening. BTW, let's have the HIV talk early. It's important to know where we both stand.
The first things people usually notice about me
Eyes, voice.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I love culture.

At the moment my current faves:
TV: Homeland, Girls, Mad Men, Downton Abbey, Enlightened, Ray Donovan, Orange is the New Black
Books: 10,000 Saints, Beyond the Beautiful Forevers, The Art of Fielding
Movies: Shame, anything with Ryan Gosling, especially Blue Valentine, (but my all time favorites include all the Godfathers, Manhattan, Cabaret, My Life as a Dog)
Music: Girl Talk mash-ups, always Joni Mitchell, Sondheim, and Silversun Pickups (I will marry the man that likes all of these . . . )
Six things I could never do without
Something to read
Someone to talk to
Tools for writing, painting, fixing
Sometimes sun sometimes rain mostly sun
One or two or three or more of the eight limbs of yoga
That one cold beer at the end of a long day
I spend a lot of time thinking about
This changes a lot, but lately: art, painting, health and exercise, the nature of god, technology, the mysteries of sex and relationships and sex in relationships, India, the inner lives of animals, "The Art of Fielding," serial commas, the best margarita recipe.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I cry when I watch Parenthood, almost every time.
You should message me if
I believe opposites attract. Surprise me!
