My self-summary
How does one distill their being into a few paragraphs? This is a question so many profiles seem to ask, but we must all try to do so.

I like knowledge and thinking, the arts, music, science. The universe is a mind boggling place.

I'm pretty selective about who I spend my time with, I prefer to hang around with people who are more motivated or are some how better put together than myself. I also try to find honestly good people.
I'm always striving to be a better person.
It is one of my life's goals to be one hoopy frood.

I believe a person is best judged by what they do, not what they say. If I want to know a person I know them by how they act, by how they treat people.
I don't like hearing "I'm the type of person that...", those sentences are seldom fruitful.
I understand that people want to be known and heard and understood, but the story we try to sell to ourselves and others is only the approximation of who we want to be; one action can speak volumes about who we are.

To anyone who sends me a message: I will send you one back, but it may take a day or three. I'm pretty busy and I will flat out forget about this site for a couple days.
What I’m doing with my life
Work all night, school all day. Art and sleep some where in the middle.
I brew my own Mead and Cider, I made my first batch of pale ale a while ago, next time I'll try something more tasty.

Here is a whole album of junk I've drawn for people:

Give me an idea and I'll draw you a picture.
I’m really good at
Learning things. I can pick up the basics of just about anything without too much effort. It's made me quite lazy really.

I also have phenomenal stamina long as my output rate isn't too high, I can go days without sleeping if I have too.
The first things people usually notice about me
My hair, I have a fair sized Afro going on.
Then they notice that I look grumpy.
I'm not specifically grumpy or angry, I just look that way.
If I smile, people think I'm up to something.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Favorite authors are Jim Butcher, Stephen King, H.P Lovecraft, Tolkien, Anne Rice, Neil Gaiman, Dr. Seuss and I can of course get behind some Harry Potter.

As you can see from my author choice I like fantasy and horror type stuff.
Other books that I really love are Flowers for Algernon, Tuck Everlasting, and 1984, to name a few.
I also read science articles and books, Physics blows my mind with some of the concepts about the base of reality.

Musically I'm eclectic, though I don't care for most mainstream hip-hop, rap or country.
Favorite artists include Yoko Kanno, Yasunori Mitsuda, The Beatles, Gorillaz, Adam Green, Danzig, David Bowie, Johnny Cash, Modest Mouse, Danger Mouse and MF Doom, Coltrane, Strozzini.
I really enjoy music videos from Tool and Aphex Twin. I also like music videos in general.

Food? I like food! Sushi, Mexican border food, Italian, fruits vegetables, various animals. I think the only things I can't tolerate even a little bit are rye and chitlins.

I also like comics, Steve Jackson games and roller coasters.
Six things I could never do without
My capacity for critical thought.
Indoor plumbing (unless I'm camping).
Teeth cleaning items.
The internet, because it has the answers.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
The nature of the Universe and the Human Condition.

How terrified people seem to be of each other, it's sort of ridiculous to approach life as if everyone is a potential axe murderer.
On a typical Friday night I am
After years of working on Friday nights, I actually have Fridays off now. I have no idea what to do with myself.

I just hang out with my girlfriend.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
My Spirit animal is probably Zoidberg.
You should message me if
you work swing or night shift like I do.
you draw, paint, or otherwise make art.
you make cartoons/comics/flash cartoons.
you brew your own alcohol.
you like long meandering conversations about everything.
you like very pointed, logical discussion.
you are a DIY kind of person somehow.
you know what "Sexy Losers" is and totally dig the sick humor.

If you know a place to get a great, and I mean smooth, complex, natural-oils-on-the-top cup of coffee please tell me.
The drink-it-black kind of coffee.
I'm so tired of people telling me they know a good spot and being disappointed with the same bitter over-roasted, might-as-well-be-drinking-instant stuff.
Cafe 21 used to have the best I've had in SD but their supplier disappeared from what I heard.
The two of us
