My self-summary
2016 was a tough year with many hurdles to overcome. They made me reevaluate my life to determine what is actually important. I didn't like what I found, but luckily we all have the option of changing our path and finding what makes us happy.

I am a recovering workaholic in the process of selling off far flung rental properties and consolidating my remaining property. I'm freeing up time to travel, hangout with friends and family, and pursue hobbies. I love kayaking, hiking, rock climbing, playing tennis, and spending time outdoors. Give me a beach, and I'm content.

I'm fiscally responsible and organized - I fully intend to be retired from the active workforce in another 10 years with enough money to last me the rest of my life. This is not an unreachable goal for anyone.

Life is too short to do the things you don't love doing. Discover what you love to do, pack a bag, and let's go do it!
What I’m doing with my life
I'm decluttering my life so I can spend more time enjoying it.
I’m really good at
Crock pot meals - I'm a bachelor, I'd starve if it weren't for my crock pot. I'm also really good at solving Sudoku puzzles.
The first things people usually notice about me
When I smile, my dimples are very noticeable. Otherwise, possibly my green eyes.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
BOOKS: I enjoy reading and consume several books a week. My library at home could pass for a bookstore with its variety of topics. For purely recreational reading, I enjoy Stuart Woods, Jeffrey Archer, Harry Turtledove, S. M. Stirling, Clive Cussler, Nelson DeMille, and James Patterson.

MOVIES: I don't actually watch many movies. Most that I do watch are recommendations from friends.

SHOWS: I also don't have television at home, so don't really watch many shows. I watch a show online sometimes, but I don't have any favorites.

MUSIC: Very eclectic mix. I'll listen to most anything.

FOOD: I enjoy good, healthy food made from fresh ingredients. I eat very little meat or other animal products. I especially enjoy Italian, Greek, French, and Mexican. If I can make it in a crock pot, I'll eat it.
The six things I could never do without
I thought about this more closely and asked myself what six things would I grab if my home was on fire.

1. Laptop
2. Family photos
3. Cell phone
4. Wallet
5. Car keys
6. Overnight bag (I always keep one packed)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
The meaning of life; ocean waves crashing against the beach; random story ideas that rarely make it onto a page.
On a typical Friday night I am
Usually having dinner and drinks with friends.
You should message me if
If you read through my profile and think you would be a good fit for me and me a good fit for you, then please, by all means message me. If your bag is already packed, even better.
