My self-summary
If you click that you "like" me, you must be a lovely person, but I will never know it because I dont have the advanced settings.

I love to travel, go on pub crawls locally and abroad, and meet people from different places. It's a requirement for me to leave North America at least once a year to stay balanced. The beach is my happy place. I blast music a lot in my house and dance it out while cooking and doing chores. I love the feelings you have after working out, but wont lie that sometimes I would rather just couch it. I like my job, but am tired of its dramas and seeking a change. I start projects and don't always finish them. My family is all far away so my friends here are extremely important to me. When it comes to relationships, I like doing my own thing, but also want to seek new things out together. I think small talk is pointless, although sometimes required, and would rather talk about issues or have a solid laughfest about something ridiculous. =)
What I’m doing with my life
- Trying to cook my way through a Jamie Oliver cookbook. My friends are reaping the benefits of this.
- Planning concerts to go to and activities to do for spring and summer, because I am so over winter. Suggestions are welcome.
- Planning my trips for 2017. My last trip was Iceland, and NYC, Portugal and the Florida Keys are likely next.
- Trying to improve my pub quiz teams score one week at a time. Who doesnt love trivia and beer?
- Sorting out my volunteer schedule, plotting next steps in my career, and trying to learn French.
- Working out via any means that does not involve a gym membership.
I’m really good at
using proper grammar in instant messages and email, being the first person to offer my seat on the subway to someone who needs it more, embracing people into a group when they are the "new kid".
The first things people usually notice about me
I have a loud laugh and a big smile.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Music: The XX, The National, Bob Moses, Borns, Grimes, Tom Odell, Sia, classic 60s/70s, 90s hip hop, and many, many random songs discovered on apple music/youtube, etc.

TV Shows: Game of Thrones, The Affair, House of Cards, Girls, random things on Netflix

Movies: Ultimate favs: Terminator 2, Seven, The Shawshank Redemption

I read way too many books to comment on favourites. Totally a fiction lover though.

I adore going to concerts in small venues. I am ridiculous at the time of world and euro cup and was absolutely giddy when Portugal finally won this year.
Six things I could never do without
Sunshine, my friends and family, being near water (lake/ocean), chocolate chip cookies, my metropass, a toothbrush.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
My next travel excursion, what I am going to eat next, and how I wish musical talent was something I possessed.
On a typical Friday night I am
I am completely unashamed to stay in on Friday to drink wine and chill, because it means I wont be wiped out for Saturday!
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I am a huge romantic - but not for dinners and flowers, I'd rather get a mix tape (if this was the 80s) or a small token related to a private joke we have, if you know what I mean. I am also a huge sucker for when guys are so happy to see their girlfriends that they pick them up and spin them around in a hug in public.
You should message me if
With respect to dating, you want more than just hooking up.

If you think that a relationship means two people being equals and sticking up/standing by each other no matter what.

You are cool with the fact that I am bit old school in that I want the guy to make the first move!
