My self-summary
When I think happiness I think: wake up early, work hard outside, eat a home-grown dinner, and drink good beer with good friends. I try to have as many days like this as possible. I love to make things from scratch- cooking, growing vegetables, raising animals, cutting cordwood, brewing beer, making quilts, etc. I live in the northeast kingdom and think it's the greatest place on earth.
What I’m doing with my life
I can’t think of anything better than working outside, with my hands, alongside wonderful people. I’ve been working on farms on and off since I was fifteen and I see myself doing this kind of work for a very, very long time. Farming isn't easy, but I love the challenge and I feel like I learn something new every day.
I’m really good at
Languages! I was surprised to learn recently that I can mostly understand a conversation in french even though I took french for only a semester twelve years ago. I'm relatively fluent in spanish and have also learned some swahili, russian, and hebrew.
The first things people usually notice about me
I'm pretty straightforward. I say what I mean and I mean what I say, which I think people pick up on quickly. Oh and my hair. It's big, long, brown, and wavy and people love to tell me it's wild.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

Six things I could never do without
Family, friends, & a sense of purpose. Hard to think of anything else I truly couldn't live without.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
How the world works. What kind of trees are in the woods behind my house and why? How is cheese made? Why are plants green? Or, more specifically, why are a few plants not green? This one kills me. Sometimes I'll go on a jag where I spend a few weeks learning everything I can about electricity, how a car engine works, or C4 photosynthesis. For the record (because I've gotten more than a few responses about this), I already know the answers to the questions above. Figuring it out is what makes the question fun!
On a typical Friday night I am
Gotta make your own fun up here! A friday night depends on the season: bonfires, broomball games, sugarhouse fun, dinner parties, and yes of course a bar sometimes.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
If you message me with "hey" or "what's up" I won't respond. Start a conversation!
You should message me if
You want to get a beer! Life is too short to spend it online.
