My self-summary
I'm very interested in the true nature of this Universe we live in. This question is ultimately not answerable by the human mind, but the drive behind the asking is at the core of who I am, or at least, it got me to where I am today, which I am happy with.

I am a creative person who makes the things he wants to make, on a daily basis. I do this by running a small software company right now, but could imagine doing a variety of other things; independence and freedom are very important, though. If I don't feel that something is important for me to do, I just won't do it!

I love to dance (for real; so many people here are just saying that). I'm in good shape and I train in kung fu and dance frequently.

I am interested in consciousness and physicality and the space where these things meet.

I'm rarely satisfied with what I have done and am always looking to live life more richly.

I feel it's very important to proceed with an open mind and the willingness to Not Know.

These days I am letting my hair grow out a bit longer but I don't have any pictures from within the last couple of months! Maybe some will happen during this vacation...
What I’m doing with my life
I run a small software company, the point of which is to make some of the change I want to see in the world. (I don't have much patience for all these cheesy startup people one sees around San Francisco these days...)
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
These touch me deeply:

The music of The Dirty Three.
David Lynch's film Mulholland Drive; it's the greatest movie ever made.
Italo Calvino's books, Invisible Cities and If on a winter's night a traveler most of all.
Leonard Cohen's special blend of saudade.

Here are some things that I like a bit less intensely:

Music: Dead Can Dance and Lisa Gerrard's solo stuff, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, Curve, The Dresden Dolls, Bongwater, Muse, Grinderman, Rasputina, Sleepytime Gorilla Museum. I'm a sucker for rock violin and cello.

My new favorite band crush: Explosions in the Sky. I like their stuff so much that I only listen to it when meditating. I have delicious experiences this way.

Films: Excalibur, Naked Lunch, The Fountain, The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai: Across the 8th Dimension.

Authors: Milorad Pavic, Charles Bukowski, Salman Rushdie.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
What we are all doing here, and why. And whether thinking about these things is a viable life strategy or just a recipe for illusionment.
On a typical Friday night I am
doing something different than last week.
