But I do occasionally take a break from reading. I like cooking, especially when I have people to cook for. I've gotten good enough at finding tasty recipes and then not screwing them up that my friends think I actually have some kind of talent for cooking. I also love going to new restaurants and trying dishes with unique ingredient combinations. When I was in high school I ran cross country, and I still occasionally do a six mile run on a whim. Recently, I have started doing a lot of backpacking. Movies are another thing I like, particularly those that make me think. I often play board games with friends, and especially enjoy Settlers and Dominion. I also do some random stuff, like going to local burns (like Burning Man, but smaller), debating philosophy, shutting down malls, and officiating weddings.
I identify as polyamorous and have been dating my girlfriend, who is also polyamorous, for about a year. Our relationship is very strong, and I care about her a lot. While I'm not averse to casual sex, I am primarily interested in establishing deep relationships with awesome people.
In case you're wondering, my friends nicknamed me Morality Mike because at the time I was really interested in exploring what it means to be moral. My views are a little more settled now, so I don't spend as much time thinking about it, but I still try to live a moral life. I try to bring joy rather than pain to those I interact with.
I'm also taking evening classes to deepen my understanding of Neurobiology, as well as some classes on other topics that interest me. Recently I've been taking some glassworking and glassblowing classes.
Lately, I have been spending a lot of my time protesting. If you have a negative view of the protesters or think that racial justice is not something worth fighting for, then we probably would not be a good match.
