My self-summary
Open to the possibilities of True Love, but so many other things, as well! Open mind, open heart! Always looking for other violists and horn players to hang with, make music with, get to know as friends and colleagues, esp. in the NYC area! I do contracting, so all musicians welcome and hopefully we can work and play together! :-> Involved in new music, as well, with some super-cool improv and Jazz greats (message me and I'll name names...grin). Played the premiere concert for Rite of Summer on Governor's Island.

I believe that guys deserve as much attention as ladies do -- and really, if you're a Romantic, you can make any day Valentine's Day (but since it's right by my birthday, too, I make it extra-special...::grin::...). Lifetime NYer, Sicilian-American, seriously joyous and joyously serious, religious not dogmatic or proselytizing, daring to believe in the unbelievable, hopeful Romantic (yes, I do believe in love at first sight, though it doesn't happen all the time). I believe in being lady enough to be polite and woman enough to know when to take a risk, with style and class, and I expect any man in my life to be likewise -- gentleman enough to be polite and man enough to know when to take action, with style and class.

I am artsy, academic, and philosophical.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm working and playing as an adjunct professor of Philosophy and Theology (classicist and mediaevalist), and a classically trained professional musician (viola, horn, voice) who plays in many genres, a genre author, and a trained counselor and diplomat.

An exciting project is that I'm collaborating on a new opera, "Mother of Dreams" (Lilith), prologue premiered in NYC 12/20/12 at Flushing Town Hall. I also have a new music/improv chamber music collective, Wolf's Gang (viola, winds, piano, harp), that since Jan. '12 has played Cornelia St. Cafe, Flushing Town Hall, LaGuardia Performing Arts Center, Downtown Debussy Festival at 1 Liberty Plaza, plus my solo dates. It's really fun to get to know the composers. Lots of new adventures!

I've played with Japanese jazz trio, Robin's Egg Blue, at DUMBO Arts Center, Blue Owl, and J-Summit at Bowery Electric.

I'm also an events planner who gathers together artsy, cultured, charming, chivalrous, successful or at least determined-to-be, like-minded cohorts who like to smile and be smiled at and with, for the first arts-style Host Club in the US, debuted July 30th, 2010 (seen in Time Out NY's Best of Fests issue 2010). Since then we've appeared at Forbidden Planet's and Funimation's Black Butler Preview Party, hosted our own Winter Solstice Wonderland @ SoHo Gallery for Digital Art, and were special guest hosts at J-Summit concerts at Webster Hall, along with a Valentine's Day Party at Kinokuniya Books and an appearance at NYC's Vampire Ball '11, plus at FIT's Fashion Festa2. The Anime convention at the gallery (Animinicon SoHo each Aug. '10-' open air tours planned for '13) focuses on Japanese art, culture, manga, music, and anime. We had classy tea parties and soirees at Lunacon at the Rye Towne Hilton in Rye Brook, other J-Summit benefit concerts at Bowery Electric, and a lovely sake and menu tasting brunch. Summer '11 was also the samurai tea and poetry reading for Pride Week at SoHo Gallery. And there was the fall '11 J-Rock and tea party event at the gallery and our Nightmare Before Christmas party, plus our Salsa of Love Valentine's Tea & Dance Party '12 (returned on 2/9/13!)! We keep happily busy embarking upon our 4th year. :->

These projects take up a lot of my life and grow outta the core of who I am (which is why I talk about them here -- beauty, art, joy to share with all!). But in spending most of my waking hours seeing to the happiness of my guys and my guests, artists and clients, and as much as that makes me supremely happy (happiness is contagious!) and it's really a great job, I am dedicated to my own well-being, too, and I find that I'm better in collaboration, so I'm seeking an eventual partner (who has their own life but might also enjoy sharing mine) everything. Hence, this profile.
I’m really good at
Music, languages, people...
The first things people usually notice about me
My smile, my hair, my voice, my style.

The six things I could never do without
Family of friends, romance, music, wine, movies, anime
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Life, the universe, and everything! Really! I'm a Philosopher! I ask "Why?" about everything! And then I go after the answers.
On a typical Friday night I am
Playing a concert or rehearsal and hopefully going out, afterwards, for a bite to eat and something to drink and good conversation...reading...watching a video with a glass of wine and chocolate...IMing with a friend somewhere in my far-flung world...planning another world-of-beauty event to share with my guests...
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I'm really a shy person, even though I come off as an energetic extrovert.
You should message me if
You are child-like and not child-ish, an old-fashioned romantic with a new-fangled sense of making things up as we go along. Asian is a plus, especially Japanese, but I'm open to all the possibilities. Younger can be a plus...youthful is a MUST! Musician is a plus, esp. viola or horn (bassoon, tenor sax, and cello also favs, along with guitar). Other Air signs can be good fits (Aquarius, Gemini, Libra), but so can Fire (esp. Leo), yet I often get very close to Earth signs (Virgo, Capricorn). Cultures I get along especially well with: Greek, Turkish, Egyptian, Lebanese...basically Mediterranean, from Europe to Asia, and some far-Asians (where hospitality, arts, and history are important!).

Also, please still like to use the phone and keep in touch between dates just to chat and share and get-to-know and beyond, especially if our schedules (or yours) make it possible to only see each other once every week or three. If you have to break a date, please call and let's arrange for the next one ASAP and just chat a bit and catch up. Y'know...let's be human. I don't believe in doing everything by e-mail and text messages (though they are very useful and necessary) when it comes to this very human thing called dating and friendship, etc. (and I believe in both or neither).

If you believe that there is no such thing as just a booty call, then we're in the same ballpark. That people's feelings DO matter. That intercourse is a word that goes beyond sex, that it is about communication and that includes talking before, during, after anything that might be called intimacy and that there ain't no touching that ain't intimate, and that includes the touching of minds, first and foremost.

Hard-line atheists & Tea Party types would probably be a bad fit.
