My self-summary
I am the founder and President of LIMCA (Lonely Indian Male Cricket Association). LIMCA was founded in 2001 in Canada and it is growing bigger day by day with more and more lonely males (Indians, Canadians, other nationalities, cultures etc. etc.) embracing the art of cricket to overcome their loneliness. I think the time has come to handover the mantle of LIMCA to younger and lonelier males. Hence, you see me on OkCupid.

I don't define myself by my profession, but this is mainly to give you an idea about how my work and passion come together: I am an Associate Professor at a university in Toronto. I never planned to be professor, but somehow it happened. I was supposed to take care of our family business in New Delhi, but I got lured by Dostoevsky, Shakespeare and Co. and ended up doing a Masters and an M.Phil (English) both from Delhi University. I chose to come to Canada for my PhD in 2001, published a book on European travel narratives, and I have been teaching in Toronto for over 10 years now. Unfortunately, I am a little too educated, but I don't care if you are as educated or not. I think the Academia is as good or bad as any other profession. That said, I love my job!

Besides Literature, I am deeply interested in theatre and world cinema, and I have enjoyed doing workshops on drama and cinema both in India and Canada. I also teach courses on performance and film studies, which I really enjoy.

Yes, I do spend loads of time at TIFF and Stratford, but I am not one of those academics who are confined to the classics, since I am equally interested in mainstream/popular arts – all kinds of music and films from ‘Bollywood’ to Hollywood.

I also used to be a full time runner during my school/college days in New Delhi, and I still love to go for a jog all the time.

As a freelance journalist, I have written on films and sports for newspapers, Britannica etc.

I am looking for someone who is fun, and looking for a long term relationship. Someone who will effortlessly drink a few litres of coffee with me, and happily pretend to smile and look interested when I make nonsensical connections between Shakespeare and hmmmm……

I spend lots of time in the Theatre - love watching plays, live performances.

Music: If I mention my favourite - the No. 1 on my list, then you might not want to meet me!

My favourite food is Indian! Both "North Indian" and "South Indian".
