My self-summary
hmm, I've never been great at these. My name's Nate, first of all. I guess I'd say I'm a pretty laid-back guy, although when it comes to topics I'm interested in, I can be extremely passionate. I love comics, novels, and nonfiction writing; I'd definitely consider myself a gamer, but I don't let that monopolize all my time or define me. I'm really, really, really into music of all types (I lean mostly towards heavy metal and classic rock, but I can find something to love in just about any genre). I also love film and TV. Really, I love any medium that can be used to tell compelling stories. I also really like going new places and trying new things, even if it's just to wander around somewhere. Most importantly, I like to make people happy, and I love to make people laugh.
What I’m doing with my life
Currently I'm taking a break from school, for a few reasons. In the meantime, I'm currently working in food service. It's not glamorous, but it's fun and I work with some great people. Next fall I'm going to go back to school and finish my undergrad psychology degree, followed by a PhD. I'm not sure what my ultimate endgame is with regards to my degree; but I'm leaning heavily towards either going into child/developmental psychology or counseling.

Other than that, I guess I'm just trying to get by, same as anyone
I’m really good at
making people laugh; cheering people up, helping people figure out solutions when something has them down, writing (when inspiration strikes me); putting together fun plans in the spur of the moment
The first things people usually notice about me
probably my loud, boisterous laugh

physically, I'm not sure...people often compliment my eyes, so probably that?
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
These are just the answers that spring to mind at the moment

Authors: Douglas Adams, Tolkien, Neil Gaiman, Terry Pratchett, Orson Scott Card, Kurt Vonnegut, Grant Morrison, and a bunch more that slip my mind at the moment

Movies: Dark Knight Trilogy, most of Kevin Smith's films, Avengers, Pulp Fiction, Spinal Tap, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Fight Club. I also have a shameless love of terrible Nic Cage films

Shows: Adventure Time, Gravity Falls, Psych, Sherlock, Sons of Anarchy, Firefly, Buffy, Futurama, Scrubs, Twilight Zone, etc.

Music: Far too much to list, but lately I can't get enough of Clutch, Witch Mountain, Foo Fighters, or Black Sabbath

Food: Probably steak or sushi
The six things I could never do without
-Any kind of GPS (my sense of direction is atrocious)
-Interesting stories to hear and tell
I spend a lot of time thinking about
music, storytelling, the future, the past, whether there's anything fun I can do to brighten somebody's day today
On a typical Friday night I am
If I feel like going out, I usually end up hitting the bars with some friends.

If I feel like staying in, I usually end up doing some reading or finding something interesting to watch on Netflix
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I've always wanted to try playing D&D (or any tabletop RPG really) because it's always seemed interesting, but I've never been able to get enough people together who were interested in playing. If you've played and would be okay with showing me the ropes, you should totally message me
You should message me if
You' think I sound at all interesting and if there's any chance you might want to get to know me better. I'd like to think I'm worth getting to know, so why not take the chance?
